since I've never seen a bat in real life, so I guess if a bat somehow mysteriously got in my house, I would run to a room shut the room and call someone, or I would run out of the house yelling.

well
ive had a bird fall into the back of my garage and get trapped TWICE!!
both times i rescued it

but recently i've developed a fear of birds.

even though its a bat not a bird im afraid of winged animals (not bugs)
however if its life was in danger, i don't care if it was a bald eagle
i would over come my fear and help it escape.
but if not than i would just be scaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrreeedd as fuck
i would open the window and hide behind the door cracked open and say
"shoo" "shooo!"
🙄

I don't know. Maybe I would be scared of it but then I will overcome that fear a put it on others as I become a hero who hits bad guys asses.
Wait forget that I think I've seen that in a movie.
Maybe try to scare it away leaving a door or window open so t can escape.

Instinctively (and later with regret), when something flaps/flits/buzzes/swoops/etc. near me, I pick up the nearest object and smack it.

(sorry bat, that means you too.)

it's unbelievably sad how may people on this thread are scared of animals that are so much smaller than yourselves. Especially as a lot of you seem to be in the US (as you are talking about 'dorm rooms' an suchlike), where they still have animals in the wild that really are a risk to humans, for example bears 🙂 . I would just like to in (a respectful adult way) to slap each of your parents or school teachers in the face or other sensitive body part for passing their sad phobias on to you and ruining that part of your mind.

I feel quite lucky after reading this thread, but I respond to small flying things with complete fascination because my parents from a young age showed me and my brother the bats flying out of our neighbours loft in the evening, (while we were still young enough to be able to hear them squeaking, and let me tell you not showing young children how awesome their ears are compared to adults is a crime), and also one of my clearest childhood memories is a guy with a tame starling and crow coming into school assembly when I was about 7 and showing them to us, pointing out all the blue/green/gold colours in their 'black' feathers.
I recently spent about 3 weeks studying rat/bat/pigeon skeletons and photos to design some kind of plausible winged animal for an art project, and let me tell you those things are way better made than us, (a generic fail-monkey-species, well adapted for running away and climbing things, which suddenly evolved a brain and slowly decided that the highest social status was represented by not needing to even learn to use their bodies any more); you're not on retardbook here, you are on a forum discussing a foreign art form which is easily misinterpreted by people in your country, so you must be fairly open minded to be posting here; so have some respect and imagination for fcks sake.

(I am probably drunk and being overly harsh for the moronic threads I normally find on the way home from the pub, please do not not take offense.) I know many people find small rodents or birds genuinely terrifying, but I'm sure anyone who has to deal with genuinely scary stuff every day, such as your children drowning or people in the sky dropping explosives on you, might find some sense of reality quite fast. 😀

Same way I do to wild birds I have the usual "what the hell was that!" reaction then I open all the windows and doors and chase the thing out of the house with a pillow or something.

Had this happen a few times. A tennis racket made short work of them. I always felt bad for doing it though, they really are fragile little things. 🙁

I *like *bats.
So I'm not exactly scared of them. I find it a strange reaction when the people around me freak out.

If I ever actually had one in my house, I would get it out of the house through a window or door and make sure not to touch it.

One or two bats were actually living in my house for a while. They usually stayed close to the roof though, so I only saw them once or twice. But when I did, I screamed 😲 , and ran downstairs, and told someone to do something about it. So basically I'm afraid from going close to most animals, so i neither hurt them or help them.

I have seen bats in my back garden before, so I guess it's possible that one could get in my house if I left a window or door open.

If it ever does happen, I'll just try to get it out, it's probably better off outside.
I'm not afraid of bats. ^-^

Bump..

Say,
(WTF), 一体なに?
Then just laugh, few minutes later, try chasing it out..

If chasing it out doesn?t work in the next 10mins,
It might just piss me so bad, so I?ll whack it.. ^^

Will open all doors and windows and hope that it flies out on its own. If it doesn't then I would have no choice but to chase it out with a broomstick. I would take care not to touch it though. While I am not afraid of most rodents, I do find them incredibly yucky. 😔

But seriously, a bat ?? 😀
