Sweet by xfrommetoyou on October 21st, 2009, 7:09pm

It was a cute story - a little cliched and a good definition of 'shoujo'. The main female character was pretty strong - wanting to stand on her own two feet instead of some whiny, weak heroine who always needs someone to save her.

The art was pretty - the female character was improved throughout the series - at first she was portrayed as 'younger and innocent' but soon has an air of 'sophistication'.

The ending was sweet - and it didn't drag on. Kiss/Hug is one of the better shoujo mangas out there.

areally good manga by crystalhikari on October 12th, 2009, 9:23am

this is actually one of the few short shoujo manga series that has left me with a good, warm fluffy feeling inside after finishing it.
i wouldadmit that the story itself was a bit cliche but the lead female character saved it from all the cliche stuff. she is quite a strong character and the pacing was really just right. it would definitely be one of the few shoujo manga that you would really feel satisfied with the ending it provided, dramatic yet totally sweet. (^_^)

wow. by charmedlass on September 4th, 2009, 10:20am

I finished it in one seating. It's pretty cliche but it was sweet and the heroine wasn't annoying. And there's no 'real' third party. It was pretty smooth sailing. Nice manga.

When I first read the manga, she said this:
Quote
There's another guy who would call me by my first name. He's already gone, three years ago- when he was sixteen.

I was rather worried, since I'm the kind that hates anti-climatic, sad and tragic endings. I've seen enough of it with people around me in real life.

When Aerandria and Midnight Scans released the last volume, I was glad. Not to spoil it for anyone, I'll say no more about what happens.

The plot was a tad on the cliche side, but it is saved by a determined heroine who wants to stand on her two feet. The art was nice, too.
It's a sweet read for those who are in long distance relationships, or to those who have just broken up.
Maybe there is hope for love after all, just not in my case. :X

Couldn't stop reading! by dreamit. on August 24th, 2009, 4:57pm

This manga was a pretty typical shoujo story but the overall romance and expressed emotions they had for each other was so heart-melting! I couldn't stop reading every chapter as their romance began to develop! It was really good and filled with that "doki doki" effect and the ending was a perfect way to end the manga smile
Loved it!

AWESOME...so far by Yazzilicous on November 2nd, 2008, 1:45am

This story is DEFIANTLY not confusing and so far of this mangaka, kiss/hug is my favorite work of her. The storyline I find is good enough, the characters really good, the man very dreamy like of how you'd want your boyfriend...mature yet playful and very jokingly around. I love it and at the end of every chapter, I'm always looking forward to more! The art is also gorgeous! Always a plus for art.

But yeah...I think the story will be a sad ending which I'm defiantly not interested on that part. I'm not sure it will be, but she the girl seems to be talking about the past and there's some foreshadowing you'll see to think it is. If I find out it being a sad/not well ending then I just don't think I will read any further cause I don't want to be hurt by it. Though endings like that do work out because it's what makes the story good and original! Not all stories can have a happy ending. But idk, I guess well just see.

Okaaay by suan_tian on July 1st, 2008, 5:41pm

I read one chapter and felt it waaaay too generic. The inexperienced (and violent) girl stuck with a clingy foreigner. I am really tired of the belief (or could it be a novelty?) that kissing is no big deal to Westerners. And that we greet others with a kiss on the lips (with tongue sometimes!).

The art was okay and the story a bit fluffy. Someone mentioned overused clichés told from a new angle to make them fresh, well they're still clichés. And painful ones at that. I should not expect depth from shoujo manga. But if your looking for some fluffy romance (which I have nothing against I suppose), then I would suggest this title.
