From Aerandria Scans:
In this grim and realistic take on classic fairy tales, Prince Ludwig, a female corpse collector, is ordered by his father to find himself a wife more suitable than the women he often brings into the castle. I enjoyed this a lot because of the twisted other side to fairy tales. The art and characters are very likeable, and I especially like the endings to the fairy tales. It was like a show with a dramatic ending.

After reading this, I'm totally looking at the fairy tales in a different way. I love how the mangaka twist all the plots and make it so friggin interesting. Most of the story have sad and tragic endings but once in a while there's happy endings. I think this sort of story is really refreshing since it's taken from old fairy tales and being turned into something so drastic. But there's one chapter that I don't really get.

Probably the arc about the prince murdering someone. I got confused over there and had no idea what's going on. But even so, it's a nice read. Really recommendable!

the artwork is gorgeous, the gothic ambiance suit the setting of the story. the characters are interesting and believable in their maniacal-ness. the twist presented is somehow in line with the original fairytale before the grimmification. the ending is somewhat non-closure but it suit this series as the 'plot' itself is not as important and as interesting as each individual story. a must read for all dark humour fan.

Not a typical shoujo to begin with. Very hilarious, so many twists in the plot. Good art. Kaori sensei is really a great mangaka. I'm not really fond of horror and gothic manga but this is one exception.

At first, the story was dark (the snow white chapter) and the prince's character creep me out

collecting corpses and the later he killed the snow white ?
I really thought it gonna be a dark fairy tales manga. But as the manga progressed, the story went lighter. It also had some comedy scenes too. Overall, I enjoy reading this. What a lovely variation of fairy tale stories!

I, for one, am a sucker for fairy tales.
Ludwig Kakumei is fantastic for anyone who loves fairy tales (and doesn't mind watching their favorite princesses die). The characters are great spin-offs from their Brothers Grimm counterparts. There's an equal balance of humor and tragedy. It's just great. Also, don't let the early chapters of Ludwig Kakumei fool you; it's not just about a guy collecting corpses (in fact, he gets over this habit fairly quickly).
Overall, great, fairy tale-based manga. I'm very glad I decided to pick it up.

I had a looot of doubts when I first decided to read this. I've never ventured into these kind of dark genres but I was bored and everyone gave it wonderful reviews so I knew I should just give it a try. And boy, am I glad I did. I don't think I can ever see these fairy tales the same as I have before. The sadistic Prince Lui is just great; he's hilarious. Actually, every characters in this story gave me quite a laugh. Ludwig is probably one of my most awesome-est male lead EVER, with his obsession with corpses and big breasts.

Although I was sorta-kinda-in a way- disappointed at the end because he didn't end up with anyone.. However, the ending was really fitting so I suppose it was okay.

I really like this series & would recommend it to anyone who's trying to find a dark and twisted comedy. It's really great smile

I really like the drawing and the stories are so funny. It's crazy how the mangaka made the original story, twisted x.x. My most favorite princess was sleeping beauty in chapter three. That's the only princess he truly liked but too bad she passed away from sleeping for 100 years :< I didn't really like it that much ><
