Description
From June: The lover of the beginner actor Makoto Aizawa is Sanari Jonouchi, screenwriter and producer behind the mega-famous theatrical troupe "Saiho." The first lesson(?) Makoto learned when they met at a hot spring resort had more to do with sex than actual acting! What began there was sexual harassment under the name of acting lessons. But even though Jonouchi is toying with the obedient and innocent Makoto using dubiously slick, premature rhetoric, Makoto believes every bit of it! yeah, there is a lot of sex, and i wish there weren't; not because i am opposed to sex (i am reading BL for a reason), but because fujii's sex isn't hot. everything here is cliche, with one small exception, which is why i am rating it a little above average -- fujii has a sense of humour, and occasionally that saves an otherwise dull scene. as usual i didn't come to care for the characters and their relationship at all, which means they're utterly flat and uninspiring.
to think that this is just average, and by far not the worst BL has to offer, is kinda sad. well, her art no longer hurts my eyes; that's something.
Today's Ulterior Motives and its sequel, Tomorrow's Ulterior Motive, are quite standard in all aspects. The story is dull, the characters are two-dimensional and the art is a strain on the eyes. I never usually say this about any hard working mangaka, but Fujii Sakuya seems to have little going for her other than her odd sense of humour which is a breath of fresh air in this stale series. Thankfully, the Ulterior Motives series seems to be a shot out of the blue for Sakuya. She improves on later attempts in all aspects.
it was cute but there was WAY to much sex, literally they'd talk to each other a little and then bam! they are all over each other. Also, they meet and they fall in love, mind you Makoto was about to be married and was in love and yet he feel in love so quickly with Jonouchi. but i have to say Jonouchi is a very handsome man, i wouldn't mind doing it all the time with someone that looks like him. =) if the sex was toned down and the characters were developed more this could have been a great story, but it ended up being a smutty but cute story.
