Beautiful Story by Chira00 on April 28th, 2009, 3:31pm

A truly beautiful story. I cried my eyes out. It was both sad and happy at the same time. A true love story. Recommend reading with a box of tissues.

awesomeness by velovelo on January 9th, 2009, 5:55am

A story turns awesome when you can relate with the characters. As a neuroscientist, the sci-fi part is also interesting. The characters are people who had been lacking love so badly that as adults, they can't recognise love anymore even though they are feeling it. Moral of the story: when the one you love is gone, you realise that you actually love that person and you never knew/learned enough about him/her. I like this :-)

Was it the art? Was it the story? Was it the dialog? I'm not convinced that Kazemichi ever loved Juri. The impression I had was that he slept with her and that was it. Which I think ultimately killed the story. The manga was like a big big big glob of emotionless apathetic characters. Sad things happen to them and they would still have the face of a robot (which is only justified in the main character). I don't know. It was... okay... It was alright but it left a very strong feeling of resentment somehow. Probably over how stale everything was.

It just fell short by DB2020 on April 7th, 2008, 8:03pm

I loved the mangaka's style. The artwork was very nice. The story was all over the place, and hard to follow in the sense that it felt like only glimpses of the events were offered. It was an original and intriguing storyline, but its lack of depth and scattered feel kept me from enjoying it. I felt nothing for the characters. In the end, I could only finish the first volume. I didnt bother with the second.

Waste of time by Straw on February 2nd, 2008, 11:25am

This one falls flat, really. The story wasn't really that interesting, it lacks depth and the characters aren't any extraordinary. The character development is scattered, very much like the plot. In the end, I found myself thinking... there's not one character in this book I care about. Maybe I was expecting more because of the reviews it has.

Bleh by bloogal on January 28th, 2008, 1:18pm

So, Kazemichi has a near fatal accident on his bike. His body and organs are repaired by prosthetics which make him as drop-dead gorgeous as ever and has no loss of major motor functions. Unafraid, he sets out to attain his 'dream' of being a snowboarding champion along with ensuring the welfare of his sister and winning the love of Juri.
With Kazemichi trying to attain many goals in limited amount of time, it's nearly impossible to figure out what's gonna happen next. The plotting is all over the place. And the characters... one minute Kazemichi is in depression, the next he's being over-emotional. Juri seems more robotic and lifeless than Kazemichi could ever be, and his parents are both cold and unfeeling monsters. Other side characters are not given enough time in the story for us to really care about them, any more than we do about the main characters, which is to say not at all.
This has a continuation story from Juri's point of view, but based on the first volume, the story seems to lack any real direction, and contains the most unintentionally unsympathetic cast of characters you're likely to encounter. Maybe it explains more, but I wouldn't waste my time on it and neither should you.

Made in Heaven - a great piece of work by moname on January 14th, 2008, 5:30am

As the genre told: josei, the story does not simply hold a construction of any journey about love. But still, the most basic emotion: love is by far the focal point, just like a silk make up the thread which hence makes up a complete piece of clothing. By setting up a frame of time, an inevitable tragedy, a search for the lost, we realize all true meanings that fill up a love, fragmented and yet that is what makes it the most perfect one.
Well I think that's some enlightenment the story gives me.

Made in Heaven by Twisted on November 2nd, 2007, 5:10pm

Warning: there is a blow-job scene between 2 guys (it's i pic and blurry so don't worry, as someone who likes manga you should be able to read it without getting funny feelings ;p )
I ditto elianthos evaluation

Warning: toward the end it's a tear-jerker. A real tear-jerker. But it does it in a slow crescendo, without melodrama, and the romance isn't mushy. Also, the detective story bits add to the story IMO (the first volume is from the boy's POV, while the 2nd one is about his loved one -a detective and a psychologist- uncovering the truth about his past).
I liked the lyrical feeling and the melancholy, and the amount of character's insight. Plus, the art is good and fit the story well. And it's very moving, in this subtle, slowly increasing way.
