Description
The story of the characters of In the Walnut is actually a spin off a oneshot that was published in Keijijyou na Bokura (Our Everlasting) volume 2.

What do a gallery owner, Hideo Tanizaki, and a young, naïve filmmaker, Sohei Nakai, have in common? Well, both of them are 24 years old – that’s a good start. They both graduated from the same art school – that can’t hurt either. The fact that Tanizaki has a penchant for art forgery is just one “minor” difference between the two that Tanizaki hopes to rectify pretty quickly.

I can't figured out why reading the first two stories 5-6 years ago seems like a blur and left me unimpressed. Seems the copy I got...like there were some missing pages back then? Huh, erase that. Reading this today for a manga series that was published for over a decade now, year 2002 to be exact, this is simply impressive. Sensei as one commenter said below, is a genius. Indeed. This manga does not only contain bishies and endearingly sweet (particularly the subtleness and actions of Tanizaki towards Sohei), each story is very touching and profound. Something's one of the few BL stories out there who can pull it off, even to date.

Lately, I started to become Kawai Touko's big fans! And of the many works of Touko-sensei manga that i read, Kurumi no Naka that became my number one favorite manga!

Ahh, it's been so long since I read this for the first time, but any Kawai Touko-sensei's manga is just one of my favorites, so I re-read it.

I was thinking about the prequel and...there are things I didn't realize at the time I read it for the first time, and now I see totally differently. For instance, their first kiss was full of meaning, because Tanizaki had already said it was something to be shared only with the person Sohei loved, and when he kissed Tanizaki, it meant he loved him.
But the sequel itself was also filled with a different kind of beauty that's rare to see. Their love was something special. Tanizaki never did say he loved Sohei, but, although Sohei gets insecure because of that, you can see he is loved when observing Tanizaki's actions. Everything is very subtle in "Kurumi no Naka", so people may not notice some details, but Tanizaki actually does a lot for Sohei and loves him very much. It's beautiful!

I'm totally in love with Tanizaki. I didn't worship him as much before, but now...every time he smiles is so earnest! I can't just not love him!
And Sohei is the most cherrful and NOT ANNOYING uke ever! Every time an uke is so happy and noisy, he's so freaking irritating too. But Sohei is just cute!

You should totally read this, although I could only read the first volume myself, since it stopped being scanlated in English =/

You know i like this couple since i read the prequel that told their story but i love the things that happens with them in this one, it's just so touching and romantic for yaoi....really worth being licensed.
