Description
Featuring: -Komaki Matsuzawa, a mysterious girl who obsessively and repetitively scrawls "return to her home star" on her choice-of-career form
-Hiroka Soma, simultaneously acknowledged as the most beautiful girl in the school, and to be as cold as the Arctic "tundra" -- the classic Ice Queen -- at least on the surface.
-Yukisada Tamura, a boy whose life is completely disrupted by his efforts to understand and get along with these two girls.
This is the story of the pain and heartbreak and exploration of love, of an ordinary boy and two cute (but bizarre) girls, as the seasons rush by like comets.
It was a nice read, but there just wasn't much closure at the end. It sort of just leaves the end to your imagination. Other than that, it was really heart-warming, and I fell in love with both female leads. The male lead got on my nerves a few times though. He's way to confident with his words and actions, which I feel is at odds with the way everyone sees him. Such confidence should have made him one of the most popular people in his class, if not his school, a playboy-type character so to speak, yet everyone acts as if he's just another classmate. I mean, how likely is "just another male classmate" going to tell a "beautiful new female transfer student" straight out that he knows her secrets. Just having such confidence, should have drawn the eyes of a few other girls in his school, yet we don't see anything like that. He's far from ordinary/typical, so I expected to see more girls acting friendlier with him. Ah well, that just me.
A very simple love story, but it has great quality. The length is just right to introduce the characters and move the plot at a good pace, but it does not move too fast nor tries to prolong the story with unnecessary plot twists. Open ending may seem unsatisfactory to some, but I thought it was a nice touch. All in all, it is a very nice break from the several prolonged romance series that are so popular right now. I would be very eager to read the original novel form if Baka-Tsuki would continue the translation.
i think its a good ending. in a sense that it doesn't disrupt the whole atmosphere. at the very least, its a satisfactory ending.
now, about the manga, although its a short ride, the story is pretty compact. so little page to waste (if there is any), so little unnecessary indecisiveness. unlike many other romance-shounen who like to keep their reader hanging through everyday little-contribution-to development, this manga address 'who he gonna end up with' with speed. which is to my liking. also, the level of emotion involved inside this manga is pretty suitable for highschooler. not too deep, and not too shallow. which is, once again, to my liking.
it's definitely not original, but it's still a very good pass time read. heartwarming story and no matter which side you pick, you won't be too disappointed in the end. however i must say, it's not much of a comedy. it's mostly sad. but, you won't regret picking up this book i only wish it was a bit longer still, very very nice manga
I thought this was a really sweet story, but nothing original. A typical high-school boy getting involved in a love triangle. Both girls were interesting; The mysterious, gloomy girl & the beautiful, cold girl. (Which she isn't really cold, but she acts like that due of her past.)
Unfortunately, both of the female characters did not had any good development. Their inner world wasn't really explored. And Tamura was just a typical boy, nothing to explore there, besides his past with Matsuzawa.
And about the ending... Well, it was open, I guess the author wanted us to decide by ourselves with whom Tamura matched better.
well for 1 thing open endings in mangas wholly based on romance kinda sucks.......... as for adachi mangas...they have sports as side dish so people can read on........ but a manga based totally on relationships shud have a clear ending,...thats what i feel...
well a bird in hand is better than 2 in the bush......that's what i go by.....
apart from that this is a disapointment (comparatively )coming from the author of tora dora which left me speechless throughout with witty jokes and realistic undertones......it isnt even half as entertaining as that.....and male lead is typical harem-useless + good heart + innocent type which i have come to despise.....after all there is only so much u can tke of a same chracter prototype being used again and again
I liked the character's very much, not unique by any standards, but still well-designed, and the story was great One thing I like is the fact that
Spoiler (highlight to view)
Yukisada admits he fell in love with both then saying he was clueless... though this also did bother me cause I didnt know who I wanted him to end up with.
As for the ending, unlike the other comments, I pretty enjoyed it, and thought it was the right one. (Though, if it were to continue, I'd like a slightly more comedic storyline, but what can i do? xD) Overall a 7.4!!!
