Description
The AD Police are an elite group of highly trained and specially equipped police officers who have been formed to deal with terrorist activities and Boomer robot crimes in the city of Megatokyo. They are too heavily armed and equipped (including power armors like the K-11 and K-12) for a normal police force, and too lightly for a military organization.

The AD Police are offered a great deal of leeway in their activities, often blockading large sections of the city and causing great amounts of property damage in the course of fulfilling their duty. Despite their dedication to their jobs, however, the citizens of Megatokyo tend to dislike and distrust members of the AD Police, seeing them as corrupt and ineffectual.

hm...this one is like an amalgamation of other manga but that doesn't mean it's bad necesarrily...it's fine really...the art reminds me of katsuhiro otomo and the story of whether the machines have a will of their own obviously reminds me of ghost in the shell (i don't which one came first though because both got published in 1989)....i haven't read the gits original manga yet (yeah, i'm ashamed of myself and to think i own it for more than 10 yrs now!) but i'm pretty sure ad police is a bit of a different and a more simple take on the same subject

i'm pretty sure i remember this title back in the day as a coloured 3 or 4 issues series and not as a volume...if this is true that might explain why the art looks weird on black and white at some parts and a bit difficult to tell what's going on...apart from that the art is quite decent and creative and actually it's very detailed with loads of lines in panels (again some katsuhiro influence especially on destruction scenes with the way debris are drawn)...

i don't know about chara development but the story is not bad and is set up quite nicely and has some thought put into it...the universe is set up well with many sides fighting over the city's future...maybe nowadays it doesn't say anything new but what it says about large corporations and robots is definitely not dumb...i was expecting something like your monster of the week thing but thankfully it's nothing like that....it's a nice blast from the past if u care to spare the time
