I bought and read this years ago and I recently re-read it. Like the comment below me said, it does take a couple readings to get all the tidbits in the story.

The story is surprisingly deep at points, and explores both familial and romantic love. It's definitely sad at times, but the story doesn't feel depressing. The friendship between the two main characters is also quite nice and Nick's motivation for reaching out to Jackie is very touching.

Despite the yuri tag, I feel like this story could be enjoyed by a lot of people. It's about love and having to move on/cope after the death of a loved one. It really tugs at the heart strings.

Also, the art is wonderfully detailed! Lines are crisp and clear and the characters are anatomically correct, yet still attractive. The cover is amazing.

Ignore comment below. Although I do agree Arial doesn't really fit with a graphic novel, it didn't "ruin" it and furthermore, the Korean wasn't MEANT to be translated and the fact it wasn't didn't impede understanding of the story at all. I'm pretty sure this manga is OEL so Tokyopop didn't actually do any translation, the creator is of Korean descent but lives in the US, and it was clearly her intent for that Korean to go untranslated, and probably for it to be presented in Arial as well. A more 'comic'-y font might have reduced the atmosphere of the story.

Anyway, personally I liked it. It's one of those ones you need to read over several times and think outside the pages, although I do think there might have been a lot of difficulty fitting the story into the number of pages given, and perhaps a lot of stuff got cut, which means you have to think more deeply and assume a few things about characters' motives. The art is clean and fluid and the exploration of Jackie's turmoil is good. Recommended for people who enjoy 'serious' yuri manga.

It was a good story with ok art, but TokyoPop ruined it with horrible typesetting (used Arial everywhere) and translation (did not translate some parts from Korean). It was slightly difficult to follow.
