Description
From Del Rey:
Everybody at Seiyo Elementary thinks that stylish and super cool Amu has it all: But nobody knows the real Amu, a shy girl who wishes she had the courage to truly be herself. Changing Amu's life is going to take more than wishes and dreams - it's going to take a little magic! One morning, Amu finds a surprise in her bed: three strange little eggs. Each egg contains a Guardian Character, an angel-like being who can give her the power to be someone new. With the help of her Guardian Characters, Amu is about to discover that her true self is even more amazing than she ever dreamed.
Contains the side story Shugo Chara! Encore! in volume 12.
Shugo Chara! was awarded the 2008 Kodansha Manga Award for best children's manga.
It's very interesting at how you see Amu grow up from her shy personality to being more of her true self. It's like she's going through some metamorphosis before she becomes an adult.
This manga drawings are really cute nd cool ^^. I love IkutoXAmu or Amuto. They;re so cute together . I really like Amu;s style too . It;s gothic/punk but stylish as well .
haha very cute and funny manga. The anime isn't bad either but the manga is better. Favorite chapter is definately chp. 14. hehe. The drawings are pretty cute too. Plus I thought the storyline was pretty interesting.
Who would've thought I'd like this series so much? Haha~ I never really knew about and I didn't really care about it when I first heard it. I always thought it was an ecchi and harem series. Guess I was wrong...I guess the title totally made it feel like it was. Oh how wrong I was! Lawl.
A friend of mine, whom I call my imouto, totally forced this on me. When I was doubting if it was a good series and asking her if it was ecchi, she sent me a pic and I totally fell in love with it! Haha! (It was a pic of AmuTo when Amu was trying to bake something for Tadase) So I downloaded the episodes...it took awhile for me to watch it but I was already fangirling over AmuTo even before I could watch it. Hahaha!
Watching the first episode, I thought "hmm..funny." I've always been a sucker for comedy series. ^^; (This is one of the reasons why I love Skip Beat! xD) The animation isn't bad either, it was really nice and it doesn't feel like the animation company were being lazy drawing every bit of the characters/backgrounds and stuff. It's still detailed. ^_^
Anyways, since we're talking about the manga. Well, I LOVE IT! :'p Love it more than the anime. But the anime is lovable in its own way too. Except the anime is more aimed for children and older...while the manga is aimed more for teenagers and older. You get lots of AmuTo fanservice in the manga, so...prolly one of the reasons why I like this manga so much. xD Haha~ the manga moves faster than the anime too, so that's another reason why I like the manga. ='] I also like Peach-pit's art style...totally reminds me of Zombie-Loan whenever I read it. xD
This manga also gives me a migraine whenever I see AmuTo smut moments..xD I always think as though my brain's about to explode! Thank you Peach-pit! I love you! ♥ xD This has become one of my favorite series now! I don't care what others say. ^-^ It may seem childish, but it's not like those other typical Mahou Shoujo series to me. Definitely worth the read ='p I'm telling you NOW! Go read it! Haha!
What I love first: The Artwork. 11/10. O my god. So so so lovable. Overloaded cuteness. I really really love Peach-Pit's artwork
Second: The Chara. 9/10 Nothing's new, but each of the character is lovable, and every chara has its character, different from one to another. Yea, since it's shoujo, lovey dovey must exist, but what I like about it is how the main character, Amu, doesn't make it as the-greatest-problem-of-all-in-my-life. I really like that.
Third: The Romance. 10/10 haha, I like every pair.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Amu & Ikuto, not with Tadase and actually I really hope dat homeroom teacher to be with Suu... Too bad it's impossible
...the main plot, eh? haha
btw, sometimes, the scenes (especially between Amu and Ikuto), from the dialogues to the chara's motions and expressions, seems... so erotic XD all hail Peach-Pit!
