From Tokyopop:
When childhood innocence gives way to a blinding thirst for revenge, is it worth the price of one's humanity?
Tetsunosuke and Tatsunosuke are the sons of a diplomat who sought to bring peace and prosperity to Japan during the early Meiji Restoration. But when their parents are murdered before their very eyes, Tetsu seeks to join the Shinsengumi, the unofficial police who are capable of the same brutality as his parents' murderers. Wading through a sea of espionage, deception and bloodshed, the young boy must choose: should he take a step on the path to becoming a demon...or give up his rage and transform into the ultimate Peacemaker?
In my country they published the Shinsengumi Imon...as part 1 of the series, then Peace Maker Kurogane as part 2, so I didn't have to go through the confusion like you guys. Although I enjoyed the manga very much, when I finished vol 6 of Peace Maker...I wasn't sure if this was really the end of the series. How can? On BU its status is complete, but to me, the "on hiatus" would make more sense. Somehow it's really, really confusing how the story ended...
I liked this series overall and was crazy about the art... 5 years ago? Still, the end was so really bizarre that leads to the sequel which is even more bizarre at the beginning and one of the guy *I loved all the kids here cause they were so so so cute and innocent* even went prostituting himself *sob* So sad...
@PoshSam I just hate it when guys complain when they see a trap because they thought it was a pretty girl and say they are dissapointed and that they`ve lost their boner or something(also aplies to guys ho have watched yaoi by mistake). They just start flaming. But when girls complain about a surprise or unnecessary yuri moment in some manga/anime or say that too much ecchi ruined a series they get bashed by dumb guys like you who think only about porn`n stuff. if you dont want any umpleasant surprises check myanimelist or read some summary before watching but i guess tht is just how most men act these days.
ok, the only reason i took an interest in this was for the cute girl in this with the long hair and cool sword skills, and then to my surprise i find out she's a he, and for some reason, afterward, it occured to me that the series wasn't even interesting I was just following along ONE character's storyline, only to be disappointed with what I was given. this series is only good for anyone who enjoyed beyblade, naruto, pokemon...and any other long series shows & manga like that, other than that, you're interest will be wained.
Ilike this manga. Sometimes it funny and sometimes its exciting, make me want to know what going to happen the next minute! Its also full with history (that make me feel kinda boring to read through it). But I still read it anyway. Tetsunosuke is definitely cute! When he grow up, he became more charming! ^^ Hope there will be more scanlation of this manga!
This is a great series, with a lot of action and angst, although originally I was extremely confused. Peacemaker Kurogane, which is produced by ADV manga, comes *after* this one, though I don't exactly know how far ahead it is (since MangaCity still hasn't finished translating this series). I read the first chapter of Peacemaker Kurogane by Fifay, and got really confused by it, so I think it's probably best to read this series first before you try the next one. But besides that, and also the trouble I had in distinguishing some of the characters, it's interesting, and definitely worth it to read. ^^
