Description
From Yen Press:

You’ve already met Keiichi Maebara and his mischievous friends in the Abducted by Demons Arc. But Oyashiro-sama’s curse is poised to strike anew in Hinamizawa village. When Keiichi spots tomboy Mion working at a maid café, he can hardly believe his eyes! But it’s not Mion after all — it’s her identical twin sister, Shion. Keiichi’s never heard of this “twin sister” before and suspects it’s just another one of Mion’s pranks. But through Shion, Keiichi is able to see a quieter, more feminine side of his best friend, even if it is all an act. As Keiichi spends more time with Shion, however, Rena grows more accusatory…

The story of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni is divided into a total of eight chapters: four "Question" arcs and four "Answer" arcs. Each chapter keeps the same main characters, but ends in a different way. However, each chapter gives valuable answers, hints, and clues to the previous one, while at the same time bringing forth even more mysteries.

The question arcs are:
1. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni - Onikakushi Hen
2. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni - Watanagashi Hen
3. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni - Tatarigoroshi Hen
4. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni - Himatsubushi Hen

The answer arcs are:
5. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai - Meakashi Hen
6. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai - Tsumihoroboshi Hen
7. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai - Minagoroshi Hen
8. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai - Matsuribayashi Hen

The side story arcs are:
- Higurashi no Naku Koro ni - Onisarashi Hen
- Higurashi no Naku Koro ni - Yoigoshi Hen
- Higurashi no Naku Koro ni - Kataribanashi Hen
- Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai - Utsutsukowashi Hen

Another Excellently Creepy Story

The second arc in the Higurashi: When They Cry series is a murderously good time. I wish I'd read it properly the first time, but the zip I downloaded was mis-labeled and I ended up reading one of the corresponding Answer Arc's volumes instead of the ACTUAL Watanagashi-hen first volume. Still, most of the action takes place in the second volume (and I later re-read it with the proper first volume lol), so it was still an enjoyable ride. If the violence in the first arc disturbed you, you might want to rethink reading this and the subsequent arcs. There be LOTS of murder, mayhem, blood and gore in this series. Also, creepy faces. Lotsa creepy faces.

Heavy on the "Murder", and throw in some "Paronoia".It's the Watanagashi Festival!

I love this arc! Prolly 'cause it's so mysterious and I love mysteries! Though of course on it's own it's impossible to solve. I like how the story centers around Mion and Shion. If your not readin it in order, shame on you! You go back and read it correctly right now! I guess crazy runs in the Sonozaki family. (they're crazy)

His fate was enebitable. People usually say "Man, keiichi messed up big time at the watanagashi festival" but I belive that the end of this arc has nothin, in any way, to do with...that night (I'm trying not to give anything away >.<) Just think about it. Yeah.

End conclusion: I think Keiichi is gay 'cause he has yet to make a move on either of the two hot twins.
