Ever since he was young, Mizuki's mother raised him up as a girl and forbade him from being close to other kids. A few personal problems with this one

It was entertaining enough that I finished it. I had a number of problems with this. These are probably personal problems. Looking at the comments and ratings, I think I'm in the minority, but here goes.
1. I didn't like the art. It is true that I have a hard time with some older styles of art, but I really just didn't prefer this style. The eyes looked soulless to me - the faces as a whole looked kind of empty/undefined. I'm not an artist though. What do I know.
2. What the heck was this plot? A lawyer trying to date a client? Completely unethical. I guess this is manga world so realism flies out the door though.
3. I know this was only one volume, but the romance was too fast for my taste.
4. I agree with a commenter below. There was some underlying sexism here, particularly in the last chapter. Going off the translation I read, Hatano said something very questionable/messed up in the last chapter. I'm kind of hoping it was just because of the translation.
Overall, it was engaging enough to read, but I wouldn't re-read it or go out of my way to recommend it to others.

It was an interesting story that was wrapped up nicely and even had an extra which is a big plus to me. Even so it was resolved too conveniently. If the problem could have been resolved so easily, could it then not have been resolved more quickly? I feel sorry for Mizuki's mother.

Sweet story, though it clearly avoids all important themes and scenes which would require more thought and effort be put into it. They clearly skip over important confrontations within each family, and they never actually delve into the intriguing premise of how Mizuki copes with slowly transitioning his identity back into being a male.

What a super cute shounen-ai. If any US publisher is looking to license & publish a shounen-ai title that would do well, this should be it. I adore the feisty Mizuki who forgives his parents so easily. I can't get angry at the lawyer either despite his being so capricious in the beginning - he is just so hot! Great art & such engaging sweet shounen-ai; it definitely makes it to my short list of fave shounen-ai

Oh my gosh! This is actually really good! Or should I say great? The characters changes throughout the volume and it's really sweet I just love Mizuki...and his gender-bending xD the art isn't bad! I really like the designs of the kimono and the hairstyles. It's not to cliche and not too fluffy either!
Definitely worth a read!

the art is very beautiful and expressive. we can sense the gracefulness of mizuki in his girl form and the awkwardness of a young boy when he is in his true form. however, the art is the only thing that is going on in this manga. the plot is boring, the characters are boring, the conflicts are boring...its just unbelievable some of the way the characters act. all in all, read only if you want to sooth you eyes with beautiful art.

A pretty good read, I like the pace of the plot, how it didn't drag on too long. I also like Mizuki's character very much, although he was raised as a girl, he didn't have the annoying stereotypical features that 'female' leads tend to have, he is strong, and independent. Point of criticisms:
Spoiler (highlight to view)
When Hatano finds out that Mizuki is male, he forcibly tries to take off Mizuki's kimono. That made me lose respect for Hatano's character because that can be seen even as assault, and he had no right to do to do that.
There is also underlying sexism that bothers me, the whole 'I will protect you' and 'because he's a man...' but this is not a major point of criticism because it reflects Japanese society and underlying sexism is apparent in a lot of mangas.

Loved it, really entertaining, no nonsense and nice romance. The characters were all likeable and it was just about the right length for a manga because usually gender bender stories go on forever and start to get annoying.
It didn't quite get a ten because there was a scene that I was hoping to see that the mangaka decided to leave out and I found myself towards the end hoping for maybe a little more than shounen ai. But honestly it's fine the way it is.

Really cute with some smart and funny twists and gorgeous artwork! I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who really likes cute shounen-ai stories. I absolutely loved how everything was handled and it's a definite plus that the storyline with Mizuki's father continued throughout and played an equal part to (rather than being swallowed up by) the romantic storyline.
