Ponta anxiously awaits the first big event in his high school life that will give him the opportunity to lose his virginity. A trip to the beach with his friends Taro and Jiro, in the company of three girls, Emi, Rumi, and Chisa. Coupling is done by janken and Ponta ends up with Chisa, the girl of his preference. His plans fail miserably though, when it turns out that Chisa is not so willing as he thought she would be. So, at the end of the trip, unlike his friends who tease him about this failure, he still remains a virgin. To his friends' surprise though, Chisa turns around and asks him to keep in touch.

Thus begins the romance between the two. Their friendship evolves into love, and like in any relationship, there are a few hurdles to overcome. For starters, Chisa is still very innocent and has good reasons not to hurry their physical relationship as much as Ponta would want to. Ponta, who has hopelessly fallen for her, decides to endure this and help Chisa uncover her womanhood.

If I had to in one word describe this story is - F**K !

No not the manga, that is just what would you feel like halfway into the manga.. yes, this is one a mind screw ladies and gentlemen..

Really, for those innocent young ones out there, beware! This is a story of innocence spoiled.. heh even I am getting riled up again.

This manga will open up new perspective on relationship and trust..

Ahh.. well without revealing too much spoiler, all in all this manga teaches you that there is a silver lining to every cloud, but only if you persevere.

Ah, one more thing. Little boys out there, learn from Ponta. Sometimes there journey is also as enjoyable as the destination. I agree thoroughly with RiderFan.

I've never been this pissed off by a manga before.. heh and I thought that I was tolerant..

This is rape

It's very clear that a good many of those commenting weren't mature enough to read this manga. This manga is about a girl with family issues who's quite frankly scared when it comes time to lose her virginity. It's also about rape. Yes, rape. If a guy forces a girl to have sex with him against her will that is rape, no matter if she gives up and lets him in the end. It's still against her will and something that was imposed on her. Have you heard of the term date rape? That's precisely what this is. What's more, don't call the male lead "spineless" when he has the guts to work through the mental anguish that both he and his girl went through and in the end heal that anguish. He's obviously much stronger than you guys might ever be. (Of course many of you may have formulated your opinions from looking at the raws. You should read it before formulating your opinion. Of course part of the guilt rests on me since I only translated the first volume.)

This is a manga about rape and how it hurts everyone involved, even the rapist (although I wish he'd done jail time.) I think this is a manga that every man should read so that they think twice before they do something that is irreversible. I know that I'm glad that I read it even though it was a very tough read. I think it's made me a better man.

I totally agree with peanutss777 here, this is a fairly chiselled and mature manga that definitely won't leave you untouched. It belongs to the very few dramatic ones I like and it is worth reading up to the end (yess I hate stories that are unsettling plus the ending is sad as well). Chisa is far less annoying than many shoujo leads, I would rather consider her initial behaviour shy but not hopeless smile. 9/10 for me, since the art is pretty well done.

A good relationship manga.

It shows how relationships should (and used to) be. Not rushing into anything physical is extremely critical for a relationship to last. To all of you who think that he should have "done" her and left her, I have nothing but sorrow for you.

Now, if

If only at the end they would have gotten married before losing it to each other, this manga would have been perfect.

If what I've read about the RAWS is true..then I agree with Kiru.. And no, SCKing, most guys would not stay with a girl if she did what Chisa did. Some things are just realistically unforgivable..and if it's true what I heard, what Chisa did was unforgivable.

Hmm..I still hope it gets finished though.. As I only know what I do by heresay..I'd rather read it for myself...even if it's more likely that I'll RAGE. It's also likely that the heresay wasn't true. But, until then, I'm rating this a 1 as it's unrealistic that Ponta would stay with her if it's true(and I'll hate Chisa's character, too).

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
To those saying it wasn't rape..I still don't think it qualifies as such. The guy released her..if she truly valued her relationship with Ponta, any normal girl would have tried to escape there, not just submit to the guy and let him do whatever he wanted just because he made her piss the bed. That logic is BS. Her letting the guy screw her after she was even released..never would have happened least not if we're to think she really loves her boyfriend and wanted him to be her First.

This series has its comedic moments... which are few and far between I might add. Apart from that, you have the standard sex aspect to move the plot along. Add that to a female lead that I personally despise, and you get this manga.

All in all... its ok.

Not liking the series does not have to do with a lack of maturity

The main reason I have for not liking the series, is that I simply do not like Chisa.
The infamous sex scene started out as rape but ended as consensual.
Before this Chisa was starting to fall for that guy. When she got a job at a cafe he was the kind helpful sempai who was also handsome and mysterious. Plus if i remember correctly he constantly did things that made her keep getting interested in him like taking her to see some horses.
If the rape did not happen or if they were not caught, there was a high probability that Chisa would have broken up with her BF to be with him.
When he let her go after finding out she was a virgin, she initiated sex with him all on her own.
Before this she was not sure if she actually love Pon and felt pressured by his obvious desire to sleep with her. Here comes a new dreamy guy who makes her doubt her feelings for Pon...
After the sex incident she finally realizes how important Pon was to her and what a great guy he was but the damage is already done.
Even after the "rape" she tries to be friends with the "rapist" and does not leave him alone.
Whatever Chisa's personal background issues, she still cheated on her boyfriend.

I found it funny that people were fighting over some sex scene being rape or not, so I checked the tags (categories), and, as I expected, they pretty much reflect that. It seems pro-rape guys are winning. As for me, I will let you know what I think whenever I actually do end up reading this manga. Right now, I just want to get it over with Yomeiro-Choice; a damn shame what happened to that title in later chapters.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
she was raped if you watched closely after he touched her with his hand she told him to untie her so she could go to the bathroom and that she won't ecape(she was thinking how to escape) but he was a bastard and told her that he will make her pee on the bed and that he hold her legs when she was tied you can check the the scene after that you can see closely that she peed on the before he start to lick her(you can see a spot on the bed between her legs when he was untying her) on the bed she was broken and tired and he raped her but he stopped when he saw that she was still a virgin cause he though ponta took her virginity(ofcourse her virginity got away because of Takagawa(the bastard name) then he let her go he didn't felt any guilt when he was with her you will really rage if you know what he was saying he is a bastard and she was already broken because of her family problems and he embarrassed her with the picture and he made her pee on the bed watching her and make her cum with his hand thinking she isn't a virgin and the chapter when she was wiping her area she said to the girl with her that he stopped when saw the blood and his face turned pale and he let her go so it was a rape not a complete sex cause he stopped when he realized that she is really virgin (i don't know why he stopped but he difinitely has a mind problem,he is a rapist)

SCKing88, you seem to be in illusionary world if you think that most guys would date such girl. They would not because

Spoiler (highlight to view)
It was not a rape. The guy stopped due to the guilt and the sex that followed was done by the Chisa's initiative, who let me remind you was in a relationship already.

Do you really think many guys would continue dating a girl like that? With such girls you always have to ask for DNA test to find out if the baby is yours and not some other dude that passed by and she slept with.

So yeah, SCKing88, sorry to break your little disillusion but most guys would not stay with Chisa after the shit she did.
