I'm confused

The chapters jump back and forth in time, and it was hard to figure out what actually happened. In fact, I finished it with a "what?"

Also there is no yuri in this. Don't see why Wings of Yuri decided to do this.

Disturbing and uncomfortable

This manga succeeds at bothering you. It's drawn by the same artist who did Ebisu-san and Hotei-san, which is something completely different. So when I came by to read this, liking the art-style, I found that the situation of the poor characters degenerated very, very quickly, and it's not a cheerful, lighthearted affair at all. A strong character gets brought down in a humiliating way, and the manga seems to be promoting the theme of "you cannot trust anyone--" of course, this could be a theme that gets broken down, since it's all the cruel characters saying it, but it seems like piles and piles of poop keep happening to the characters.

I'm going to guess that the curse they talk about in the story is that the people who tried to be kind when they were younger end up growing into more twisted individuals. I'm hoping that the protagonist doesn't get fooled into more crap, but I suspect that that's how it's going to go.

Read the manga if you're interested in some mindf*ck situations, and if you want to feel very uncomfortable. There's a lot of cruelty in this manga, and it also has one of those mildly depressing aftertastes. The scanlation speed of it's rather slow, so it'll probably be a while before more chapters come out. I'm waiting on them, but somehow I don't think they're going to be very happy chapters.

Confusing but interesting...

I read the chapters that have been released up to now and it's very difficult to make sense of what happens in this manga. The art is pretty good, the characters are interesting but the story is confusing. You need to read it a few times for it to make sense. Still, I wouldn't mind reading more, if it's ever released.

You could call me sentimental or smthn, but I hated the way they twisted the story. "takes away bad children..."- that's common with the fairy tail, but aside from that, everything was turned into a freak show. I like Russian old fairy tails, cuz no matter how horrible they may sound it always comes down to influencing the reader to become better. It's baba-yaga in name only, and I'd hate to see what else these authors contaminated...

Interesting, but...

This one is interesting, but once again I fear that the author may have taken things too far. As anyone familiar with either of this creative duo's works may already know, they can really push the boundaries at times (Mon Seul is an excellent example). What we have here is a decent horror story, but little substantial writing to back it up- it's all over the top traumatic events and lies with an underlying message of being unable to trust anyone. I'll have to wait for the finale to judge whether or not it's just some sort of bitterness on the part of the authors, but for now the whole thing is rather weak.

If you like a good horror film though, by all means, read away.

This tittle focuses on very dark themes, after finishing reading vol. 01 (thanks solelo) I'm left with this horrible feeling in gut, much like elfen lied and bitter virgin this series is dark.

Read it if you can handle *Plot warning skip this part you been warn*
Rape done realistically *Plot warning skip this part you been warn ends*

8.5/10

series title

The title of the manga is derived from the children horror story told to most Russian children, that of baba yaga and how she will eat you if you're not obedient, etc. She is supposed to live in a house supported by chicken legs deep inside the forest.
