I like rape stories habitually but this one was just too realistic and violent. Plus there was no plot at all.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The lil bro hit his older brother with a baseball bat and then watched his friend rape him. The end.
It wasn't either really focused on feelings. It was just a crude act.

I haven't read the sequel to this, frankly because I wasn't too interested in the plot to do so, but this story by itself is, in fact, a bit disturbing.
By the end of the story I was left feeling a bit annoyed and irritated by certain characters. Two of them, actually. I can't say too much without spoiling it, but if you're looking for a... fluffier oneshot, then I wouldn't recommend this story to you.

I'm not much into bondage, but something about this story really struck a chord in me. I wouldn't say so much sexual--as it is hard to watch--and yet I couldn't look away. I agree completely with MightyMaeve that the sequel must be read to really understand what is going on here. However, I was disappointed that the younger brother's character was so shallow. I think he needed to be fleshed out more, for the psychological aspect of this work. I think that it was a bit over-simplified and a tad hard to believe at times. The art was good, but a bit of a throwback to earlier manga styles. I give it a solid 7 because it presented an interesting story in a way which made you think.

Jesus, I really felt sick when I read it. I totally dislike rape and this one was really some thing. the story has been written strongly and professionally which makes it impossible to tolerate it because it is too realistic.

when I finally could finish it, I was feeling so angry and annoyed that I wish I could cry. argh

You have to read the sequel to get any sort of 'meaning' out of the first one. They really don't stand alone. The first one focuses on the younger brother's emotions, which is never completely addressed, so that is a bit of a disappointing, dangling thread.

The second one jumps the focus to the older brother and his gradual maturity of comprehension toward seeing the situation he finds himself in from more than one angle. I liked how the 'bad' character was explored a bit more than just a quick judge and shallow label of 'bad.'

SO, it is a bit over simplified, but I liked it. To me, it felt like a quick storyboard for a potenially powerful manga, if it was fleshed out in psychology and scenes.

The art is pretty, loosely sketched and ethereal (not really my preference, but competently done.) Sometimes the characters' pac-man shaped eyes threw me off, but mostly the illustrations had good impact for the emotions.

Yeah, that pretty pic up in the corner? Don't let it fool you. This is by no means cute. Since there is no summary, you might not know what to expect. Let me warn you: basically, this is a one-shot rape. A 12 year old boy beats his older brother up with a bat, and then watches his friend (also 12 years old) rape him.
