Description

A Yakuza boss really wants this "Mad Dog" fighter he found to work for him, but the "Mad Dog" isn't too keen on the idea, even though he owes a debt. After being injured and refusing to go with the boss, the "Mad Dog" winds up staying with the doctor for a few days. Will the "Mad Dog" give in to the boss to pay off his debt?

the plot was used but i liked the characters cause they are amusing and the story just leaks of sexual tension and man, the restraint -the sweet sweet sweet restraint is there. its good, just not over good.

i've been sufficiently "yoneda-ised" to no longer be confused by the speech bubbles. this oneshot, even with reading the prequel first, left me a little confused for other reasons, but i think i was looking for too much backstory because i was brandnew to yoneda then. the story is, as always, fascinating, and made me think to follow it (i love that). i disagree that there is no build-up; it's just much more subtle than usual. look closely at the art for it; yoneda's characters often don't speak about such things; it's said through line tension and the way they hold their bodies. i love her art for that; it is never there just to illustrate a story that's told with words; but it actually fulfills the greater role in telling the story. it's not a favourite because even though i am no longer confused about lack of backstory, it left me frustrated with wanting to know too much more, because we see such small slices of the lives of these interesting characters. it's still way, way above average quality for a BL oneshot. ... Yeah, I read this twice because it made so little impression the first time that I didn't realize I was rereading it until halfway through. Like everything by Yoneda Kou I've read, the art is pretty good, but too often I can't tell who is saying what. Put some helpful little tails on the speech bubbles, please!! This oneshot is more of a situation than a story. Until the last couple pages it's all incredibly slow character elucidation that doesn't go very deep for the amount of time spent on it. There's no romance or build up of sexual tension. The characters just sort of suddenly do it. Yoneda convincingly portrays the sex as between masculine men. I think this is one of the authors real strengths. However, you can find that in most of her stories, and unless you're already a diehard fan who's read the rest of her stuff, I'd say find something else by this author to read.

I'm relatively new to yaoi. But after reading Yamashita Tomoko's works, there was no going back. She's become my standard for yaoi. That being said, I read this oneshot with her manga in my mind. There's absolutely no comparison. There's no huge character development, but it's still enjoyable. I find the characters to be interesting.Actually, I find Kuge to actually resemble a pretty and masculine boy. That's pretty amazing. Usually these manga-kas make their ukes to look extremely feminine. The storyline itself was alright. I think I mainly read this for the art though. And I'll admit, Kageyama is an interesting character. I've never read about a character with a burn fetish. And I can't tell whether he's gay or not. Maybe he's only gay because of the uke(can't remember his name). Or maybe he just really wants those burn scars. Anyway, I sort of vaguely liked this oneshot. I wouldn't read this again(except to enjoy those pretty pictures), but it's alright.

I love her style, her ambiguous expressions, her untold and unsaid. it builds up such sexual tension that you think you'll explode! The good thing is that she totally satisfies you, the ending is just perfect. She manages to give enough depth to her characters even if it's just a oneshot, and it's also an unusual couple, something different from the usual-so-boring yaoi stories. read the prequel as well, it's heartbreaking but you know things will get better afterwards, so go read it!

Yoneda Kou drives me crazy with the speech bubbles - I had to reread this thing a few times to figure out who says what in certain panels... But apart from that stylistic choice, this story's fantastic. It's short, but fascinating, and I love the twisted, but oddly flirtatious and hierarchical relationships the characters have with each other. Their dynamics are complex and realistic. And the main protagonist (antagonist?) is insanely sexy. Really. In this story, Yoneda Kou resisted her usual pattern of writing a submissive, emotionally sad uke - and I thank her tremendously for that. This guy's got a real backbone, and it makes him fun and refreshing, 'bad boy' or not. Not a really long or dense story, but well worth the read. And the art's gorgeous, to make it even better. ... It´s different than most of yaois that are around, with characters well built and an interesting story. You can´t easily guess what will happens, what I consider a great quality. The art is compelling, really beautiful. It worths the reading.

For a one-shot, it's not a bad read, though the word bubbles are fairly hard to follow in a few places, hence a 9 instead of a 10. The uke is no push-over; it's his independence that makes him so desirable to the other characters. And the seme isn't typical either. It's a one-shot, so don't expect huge development, but it was worth the read.
