Description

An English webcomic following the story of Meela, a young, orphaned lupian (a race of people with wolf-like features), who is struggling to survive on her own. A chance encounter on less than pleasant terms teams her up with Feral, another lupian who happens to be a mute as well as one of the best mercenaries in the land, and who is not quite so welcoming of her forced company as she would like to believe. Fun, danger and plenty of humorous situations follow the two on their wayward adventures; however the seemingly peaceful world they reside in is not quite the paradise that its reputation makes it out to be. When a taboo topic and a dark secret collide, it may unravel their already tattered lives and force each of them to face the reality of the truth, requiring each to make decisions that could alter their lives forever.

In this issue: Meela's new companion makes ammends for his wrong-doings, but any conversation she attempts doesn't seem to go very well. Regardless, some small truths about him are revealed and a name is finally given. When exhaustion finally takes her, Meela finds herself in a strange dream with a new friend, but his idea of fun isn't exactly conventional. Finally, when morning arrives Feral seems ready to take his leave...but will Meela let him get away that easily?

When I first found this story on here I didn't read it. Twice, maybe three times I skipped over it because I was suspicious of the art style, summery, and genre tags. It's not really a manga so much as a web comic. Does this change the fact that it's absolutely amazing and should be read at all costs? No, no it doesn't. Web comic, yes, English based, yes, new on the scene, yes. Worth the read? MORE than yes. The story is very interesting and the characters very enjoyable and well developed. Feral (male protagonist) actually being mute, has such an amazing character development with simply his expressions and actions. Meela is cute in her immaturity and sometimes annoying way. The story is still new, as I mentioned, so not too much is published yet, but what is shows the amazing poetical it has. If nothing else, it won't take you very long to read all of it and it won't be a waste of your time. The only reason it receives a 9.5 rating from me it not really its fault (yet) as I have seen some of these characters before. Holland is very much like Fia of Tsubasa and many other "I act all care free and comedy relief but I'm actually hiding something" characters and Meela's "I really don't know anything but pretend I know it all" attitude isn't really my thing, though that's mostly just a personal demon of mine.
