From Nakama:

Dr. Uzuki, who works at a university teaching hospital, comes across in an alley and saves the Yakuza member Nonami after he's been shot. The next day, when Nonami shows up at the hospital, Uzuki is scared that he's come to make sure of his silence after he's seen the gunshot wound. But actually, Nonami, who misheard Uzuki's name and has mistaken him for a woman named "Suzuki", has forced a younger yakuza brother into being admitted into the hospital and order to find this woman, and they've started to search for this 'Suzuki'...

The timid rabbit-type doctor and the Yakuza with the chiseled strength of a tiger - a law of the jungle love!

The second volume contains the sequel to "Spell it as Lie, Read it as Truth".

The third volume contains the extra story "Black or White" (5 parts), only part 1 has been scanlated.

I mean, it was pretty funny, especially the cute animal dynamics, but that's about all I liked about it.

As someone else pointed out, the fact that the seme could go and have sex with 3 women after confessing his love for the doctor bothered me. I mean, it's one thing if this is in the span of a couple of years. Can't blame someone for wanting to satisfy sexual urges instead of waiting years for one person who might reject them. But days? Seriously?

Also didn't like how it felt like I was reading shota. Like ew, I HATE shota (and lolicon. One of the reasons why I avoid most GL/yuri is because the girls look like elementary school students). Seriously, this supposedly late-twenties doctor looks and acts like he's 10. He's baby-faced with a small body and constantly looks like he's gonna piss his pants any second now, especially around the yakuza dude (throughout the entire manga, not just in the initial meetings!).

Oh, but I did like that scene where the manly seme says that it would've been better if he'd been born a woman. Whenever that line is used, it's almost always out of the girly-looking character's mouth (usually ukes, sometimes semes), as if they're saying, "I already look like a girl, would've been better if I'd been born one if it meant we could be together". To hear it from a manly-looking character... points for the mangaka smile

And wow, this turned into one hell of a long review. Sorry!

I love yakuza manga, i love yaoi manga and a good amount of comedy. And this manga has all of it. The tiger/bunny idea adds just the right amount of ridiculousness and cuteness.

Surprisingly, i found the super manly yakuza seme more adorable than the tiny rabbit-like uke. This guy really loves the doc and he shows it in such adorable and fluffy and i waNTED TO STAY SERIOUS ABOUT THIS BUT THE FEELS ARE TOO MUCH

the ending melted me away and just thinking about it turns me into a puddle of feels tbh
I'm glad the mangaka changed the ending from the drama CD and used this one instead cuz it's way better and fits the story and characters much more.

I just have to say one thing, six freaking years!!! That's how long I waited to finish this manga. I loved it, but it felt kind of unfinished, well...six years were enough to get over it I guess. I'm just glad that I got to read the ending.

I read each and every chapter but I still don't know if they end up together.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
When the seme (tiger) told the uke (rabbit) that he wouldn't want the rabbits family to be involved with the yakuza. Did they end up together. Yeah they Chaka bang banged but that was because they both loved eachither. And tiger said he would call rabbit and he would visit because that other dude betrayed him.

I just want to know if they end up together since at the end they got in a car crash and tiger yelled out 'GET THE DOCTOR!'

So please answer my question!

'Did they end up together' cuz that's all I care about hehehe besides the plot and everything else.

The way it ended it kind seems that they didn't end up together. I still love it though

This is probably the best thing I've come across in a long time. I don't mean to say it's deep and thought provoking or anything, but it's just the type of yaoi (great drawings, heart-wrenching romance, romantic plot, pacey development) that is exactly my preference. Yakuza stories sort of stresses me out because of how potentially dark and dramatic the story could become, but once I do get into them they're worth it, including this one. I appreciated the subplot with the seme's yakuza troubles and all, and I also appreciated that it was wrapped up nicely with time to spare for the romance. I wished it would have continued on longer. I mean, an extra chapter or two wouldn't hurt at all.

The second story about the tutor and ex-neighbor was cute too, although the seme may go too far sometimes. What's funny is that the huge age gap in this story gets me, although I'm super fine with the uke in the first story looking so young because he was at least 27 in the story.

I've actually finished reading this one. It's a cute story. The seme, named Nonami, is straightforward with the things that he wants, but he cares for it as much as possible --- be it the neko, named Uzuki, or other things he hold dear. On the other hand, Uzuki is the typicaly 'scared-of-a-yakuza' person. Despite that, he ends up accepting Nonami's love.

So far only up to volume 2 is availble in English. For those of you giving this a bad review, if you buy the translated version, the licensed version, I think perhaps you will find a difference, or maybe not to each their own. If you quickly read this, you also will not get all the in's and out's of the story. The tough guy has many reasons for his actions, and the doctor is not as big of a whimp as he seems. The doctor is the one who the yakuza thought he was looking for at first, and if you read the story in detail you can see a romance bloosom. I mean we are talking about a romance book here. Be it yaoi or hetero, you do need to use your imagination. Overall this is a very good, light fund read, with some well done humour.

This was a great story, very well done. The characters were charming and the plot line was more in depth then the usual yaoi fare. The art was very nice and the animal characters were charming and did not take away from the story. The side story was also very entertaining.

As for some of the other comments about the seme sleeping around to negate sexual frustration, these readers obviously did not understand the storyline at all, especially in the case of the nurse. If you read the manga and see it that way I urge you to reread a bit as it is not a complex concept to grasp. Or some of the other comments explain it more in depth in the comments.

I dont get why this is rated so high. The doctor was cute (who looks like a 13 year old) and the yakuza was pretty tough looking... But this mangaka failed to convince me why the yakuza was in love with the cute doctor. The fact that the doctor rescued him wasn't thoroughly explored... I wish she would work on that issue. I know he's thankful (since he is desperately searching for this Suzuki person) but I would very much want a touching scene b/w them of the yakuza thanking the doctor, instead of all those yelling and scaring him. The doctor being shy and scared all the time was too repetitive. In addition, the romance wasnt believable, all I got was the yakuza repetitvely said "I love you"...
And this brings to another issue, why is this man sleeping with a nurse and having a four-way(!) when he claimed to be in love with the doctor? I get it how he has "needs"... But.. Shallow much?

The art wasnt the best but I do give her credit for plot originality. I just feel it has all the right ingredients but wasnt excute well, especially their romance.. Not to mention the ending was pretty stupid.
