to get the most out of this manga i would just read the 2nd and 4th story. but thats just me. the 2nd and 4th story where both really adorable though and i loved them so im rating this based on just those 2 stories
Well, except for the first story, I kind of enjoy reading the rest. It's very interesting although there are some cliches here and there, but overall, it's an interesting read! Of course, the art is awesome. Like duh.
Overall, I agree this collection lacks depth, and the premises are rather overdone, but it's not entirely bad; it does still have Ohmi Tomu's art (though not her finest) and the stories are somewhat sweet. You're just left with that horrible rushed feeling that many oneshots fall victim to. Because the smut content is light and the stories are simple, I'd recommend this to a younger reader just getting into smut. Seasoned smut readers will probably be bored by this.
1. Love Cruise Don't be mislead by the description for this one, there's nothing supernatural or magical about this one. This oneshot had promise, and I feel that if it had been a series the mangaka could have done something great with it, but as it is, it's all skeleton and no flesh. It almost seems a bit silly, but it's still one of the better of the collection.
2. Kawaii no ga Osuki This is a premise most shoujo readers will recognize, and there's really nothing special added to it here. Fans of Otomen may take more enjoyment out of this than others. This contains far less of a smut element than the others.
3. Otameshi Kudasai This was my least favorite; I felt that a lot more could have been done with the "kind yakuza princess" element as it was the most original setup of the collection, but it really didn't go anywhere.
4. Ryuujin-sama to Oyome-sama This story was probably my most favorite-- yes, the bride of a dragon god thing has been done, but there was something sweet about this one.
So these are touching stories. I preferably love the first and fourth stories. I think what makes these stories less emotionally engaging is that the heroines are not complex or that their depth is only told in monologue rather than shown in their actual actions. I found myself saying a lot of times: you stupid girl! I seriously did not like the second and third stories. It was a good idea, but too-fast or unbelievable of a plot. The artwork, however, is gorgeous.
You have to have a high tolerance for stupid heroines in order to take this collection of short stories. I suspect this is by the same author as Midnight Secretary, but while the plot of that series was occasionally funny and occasionally acceptably smutty, these stories were really.....lame. The heroines are too easily charmed and they're really a bit....I don't know how to say this in a nice way, but the things they do are kind of stupid. Agh. Really regret reading this.
