Tachikawa Tetsuya in an incoming freshman at a new high school and he’s a great archer. He wants to join the archery club to meet the one they call “Kami no Ko”, better known as Fudou Gonzaburou. Tachikawa is good, but he’s heard that Fudou is even better. The archery team at this school is in fact very good.

Tachikawa also meets a pretty girl who is already a member of the club (he accidentally walked in on her while she was changing). She’s not very good from the look of things, but she is his senpai and he defers to her. She takes an immediate liking to him and kisses him after practice.

Let’s try just to get past the fact that this girl is actually a boy, named Fudou Gonzaburou…

Confused by categorization, Not sure how to feel

This series is an enjoyable little read. Nothing spectacular so far, but the characters are somewhat interesting. The biggest problem is that it errs on the side of mediocrity. There's nothing bad about it, but there's nothing particularly good. The art style is somewhat sketchy, the trap is drawn with curves and features that indicate the author is just drawing a girl, the archery scenes aren't anything special, etc.

In addition, I'm somewhat confused by its classification as Seinen. It's not a "mature" enough series to shake off most of the Shounen vibe, yet it obviously doesn't target a young audience. I suppose Seinen is more "not-shounen" than anything in particular in this case.

All in all, this is a series you might enjoy reading if you're just looking for something else to add to your reading list. It's not a waste of time, but you can certainly find more engaging series to follow. I will be continuing to read this myself, partially because I enjoy gender benders, partially because I enjoy archery, but it's really nothing special. It's all too easily lost in the crowd.

On a true scale of 0-10, where 0 is trash, 10 is a masterpiece, and 5 is an average series, I'd give it a 6.

how can this work be called spectacular? i certainly disagree.
after i read all three available chapters, i concludes the mangaka unable to display a good story-telling skill. the pace is messed up, the characters are introduced abruptly, and the dialogues are emotionless. reading this manga is like picking one little detail at one place and then immediately hurried to other places to pick another detail, and so on. the setting isn't utilized well. once it gives the intended information (through a flat dialogues), it doesn't matter anymore. the lack of depth have me start to wonder, where the seinen tag comes from?

Spectacular piece of work.
The story plot is wonderful. smile
The art is also splendid.
This is also the first piece of gender bender manga that i actually read.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
Maybe becuz the story mainly focus on the archery rather then the gender bender genre. :)

Overall, its a must read manga!
