Description
What started as a burglary at an art gallery ended up with more than just a painting being stolen, but also the feelings of those involved. And when that stolen painting happened to be the masterpiece of a young artist named Kagawa Setsuyou, gallery owner Andou finds himself the victim of the eccentric artist's whims. Taking place deep in the woods, with just the two of them alone together in an ancient gallery... Ike paints breathtakingly passionate scenes that readers are sure to enjoy.

Typical mid-2000s yaoi.

This reads exactly like the maaany yaoi in the 2000s with super flimsy premises that are just an excuse for couple moments: the dramatic start (that is resolved in the same chapter, lmao), the random slice-of-life chapter, the uke being insecure about something, the "I'm breaking up with you for a random and nonsensical reason", the happily-ever-after. varianthart said it best: if you prod at it, the plot makes no real sense.
At least the art was pretty and there was no rape, I guess. Overall forgettable.

Somewhere in the Middle

I dislike Ike Reibun’s work due to the proliferation and conflation of violence with sex and love, but this one could go down the gentle loving route. And, it did. And, I am so glad that it did. While there were a few things which were off putting, such as Setsu’s father’s spartan/abusive upbringing that was recast as the doings of a tsndere father who really cares about Setsu (and I wonder maybe I think it’s abusive behavior from my cultural perspective because I have noticed this manner of upbringing being consistently portrayed as such in stories of geniuses: example from anime, Shigatsu Kimi no Uso, and an example from real life: Jiro: Dreams of Sushi) and Andou-san being such a dork, I did like this manga. And, I mainly liked it because I am a sucker for “never-dying” love stories and “I am prepared to give my life for you” stories.
And, the comical extras were awesome.

Haha, I was searching for this for so long! It was evading me, taunting me X___X (pretty much since I suck at using Google- tip for the incompetent like me: search for Aoiro Keiyaku, haha, it'll show up under that name. Anyway, I am a huge fan of Ike Reibun- her art is super sexy and beautiful, and this one is no exception. The story was unique, and I liked her attention to detail- she has a really cool style and some pretty interesting concepts and ideas. Also, after all those sweat-inducing Google searches, I definitely enjoyed it a lot, haha, although I can't help feel this is missing something- although the two character's relationship is really sweet, they lacked that spark, if you know what I mean. At any rate, though, this is miles above most yaoi, so please, read it! I do highly recommend it, along with all of Ike Reibun's other work. biggrin

I really loved some aspects of this story. I liked the couple for one and some of the scenes in this manga are my favorite scenes ever. The tub scene for example, just so sweet and heartwarming in a simple way. But the seme's attitude towards the end was infuriating! What exactly was the problem? Gah..

This was kind of all over the place and super cheesy. The art was just ok for me. Some elements were really gorgeous and some weren't so great. The plot was...weird. Why did someone steal a painting from an artist who's seemingly barely known to begin with? It wouldn't be worth anything. Then a ghost story that goes nowhere? I...have no idea. It was really disjointed. I feel like people are imagining more depth in this than what actually exists(very little). They tried to write angst into it, but it felt forced. They did things which made little sense just for the sake of drama, especially toward the end. The naked scenes are pretty hot though(but short), so I'll give it that much.

Sweet, Artful and Pure

In Chapter 2, the art is breath-taking; there is so much flowing, liquid motion alongside the intense emotion of the sensual bath tub scene. In fact, that was my favourite chapter. It proved to me that Ike-sensei can do clever one shots that highlight both beautiful art and clever, captivating story telling with real, relate-able human psyche. It isn't a one shot, but it could be.

She ties in the concept of fear (she does that topic well!) of obvious things like vampires and dark rooms with more oblique fears like someone not always returning to your side. The subtle promise at the end and the location and topic the promise was made upon were so deftly done!

I like how Ike-sensei adds little education tid bits about the world of fine art. I liked the strong feel of 'love' and 'comfort' in this one.

If you like the angsty and dramatic type then this yaoi is perfect for you. The end is kinda not my taste and it seem it's all over the place but it's a good ending. Not one of my favorite but still good.

I just cannot say enough about sensei's work, the art is one of my favorites. The stories are not at all cliche either so is always nice to read.

I really did like this volume. It was sweet and funny, and the relationship was completely consensual. The mangaka captured the subtleties in expression during the dramatic moments just right. Don't miss the funny comics at the end of each chapter!
