This is one of those rare mangas that achieves what it sets out to do and then ends (although this may partly be due to the fact that this is because it's shoujo rather than shounen). No dragging plotlines, no extentions passed the sell-by date; simply a good story told and nothing more. The characters are likeable and neither irriating or annoying. I may go so far as to say that Hime is Mary Sue-ish in her ability to do everything with no apparent flaws. Still, the plot is satisfying, although the motivation behind the Big Bad's actions are not explained. This can be forgiven as from the outset this is not the type of manga to go into the psycology behind the villian's mindset. An enjoyable read with a strong female lead in a genre that so clearly lacks them. This is action, romance (even if it isn't included in the genres) and the characters, lead and subordinate, recieve the development and time they deserve. The ending is satisfactory. A good read.
Okay, the plot is the typical action series setting with its' share of goodies and baddies. However, it's the interesting characters like the strong heroine and the woman who resembles her, the man who keeps "spying" on the heroine, etc. that make the story come alive. In fact, I thought the series was quite a good read 'cos the characters weren't boring at all. For quite a bit of manga, I actually have to force myself to finish reading but this title kept me sticking till the end.
