It's great that it sticks so much to the original story. Basically it is the fairy tale as a manga. The art is beautiful, also there's nice story telling... So if you liked the fairy tale, you'll really like this, too. The gore fells probably more horrible than in the original story, but only because you see it directly and it's not just words. It is what you've got to expect from a Cinderella story. If you know the story you know what will await you, but it is still worth the read^^
I could laugh at how the sisters cut their own feet so the shoe fits in.. The original story want to tell us that greed and ambition make human blind. Too bad it's just a oneshot, i wonder what will happen if the story continues after they get married.. And Nice Art.
O'cmon people! This is not as gory as u think it would be.... I read the comments before reading this mamga and i had high expectation for the gory parts because i feel sick when i get suprised by it... And i'm telling you, this is not gore at all!! Well for me it is not.. The drawing is cute and the eyeballs are not drawn in a disgusting way... LOVE THE STORY!! the prince is a freak!
I wish people would stop rating it badly just because of the heel-cutting and things like that, because this is the ORIGINAL version. It's supposed to be morbid, stories told to young children were told mainly to teach them morals.
I don't know about you guys but I really love it, the art was just wonderful I really love it, gosh it was so freaking awesome the sisters and stepmother got just what they deserve its really awesome.
Before reading the story, I was hoping for something original, but sadly, it was replaced with an exact replica of the Brothers Grimm version, toes and heal cutting, bird pecking and all. The only difference was that the pigeons were doves in this one.
the evil fucking step sisters only gets what they deserve... i believe that kind of fate awaits people who do evil fucking stuff!!! yeah!!!
the manga isn't really gory.. it was pretty cute actually... the art is nice... fufufufufu..love the gowns...also the great scenario... this is what you call real art!!!
but somehow it made me feel bad in the end... wait this is so confusing!!! arghhhh!!! people should just read this to find out for real!!!
Well..The art was really nice and rather cute. It's good that someone finally uses the original story without all those cliches and "happily ever afters" It wasn't anything exception, gory or great.
A ghoulish take on the classic fairytale. The author hasn't added anything original to the tale, except for some heel and toe-cutting, and making Cinderella seemingly a bit too cold and morbid. I didn't like how the author cut out some of the most important scenes from the story e.g. when Cinderella first meets the prince at the ball; her encounter with a fairy godmother and all that. And as a result the story felt disjointed. I was expecting more from this one-shot, but it didn't deliver.
This was pretty much the same version I heard of Cinderella when I was a kid--eye plucking, toe-cutting and all that stuff. Why is it considered more "sickening" only because it's a fairy tale? It was MEANT to be a moralizing story for children, showing to what lenghts people can go to achieve their goals and as in all fairy tales, to "show" what happens to "bad" people.
I liked it, but it was nothing special. I liked the mangaka's way of drawing the eyes, but the art in general seemed cluttered. Extra points however for someone finally telling the real, non-watered-down-Disney version for once.
