Misunderstanding should be the main genre

Rating: 5.0  / 10.0
I dropped it at chapter 29, and read it when i'm really bored to see what's going on. But i wouldn't recommend it to anyone, the main girl is really annoying and the manga has no plot anymore and it's all about fights and misunderstandings between the main characters, i can't take it anymore. The art is really nice and at first the manga was interesting. Maybe it should have ended already.

Misunderstandings galore

There were misunderstandings from the start all the way to the very end. The ending itself was lousy, what s surprise. After being in a relationship for so this long, you should be able to understand each other better and be more honest without the other jumping to conclusions and running off. I have no faith in these guys staying together.

Misunderstandings ahead.

Yes, the storyline revolves mainly around misunderstandings - and the after effects of those, like realizing, then struggling around a while, finally talking about them and apologizing. Again and again, you will get to see that cycle taking another turn and - to be honest - this is boring and gets tiring for the reader. The typical cliched Shoujo storyline surely includes those misunderstandings, but there should at least be some development (~ character growth & a correct conclusion of the story). I'm not sure, if this Manga will be able to catch my attention till the end, though it would be nice to see a work of this length (14 volumes!) to end properly.

The drawing style is okay, although it's not something new and comes mainly up with rather typical design - Adding a few contemporal items every now and then. All in all it's an okay read for those, that don't mind repetitive stories and characters, that just take their time to grow up. ... Really, take their time... Sighs.

Cute and annoying moments

The art is very well drawn and there are alot of cute moments in the manga. But I cannot help but get annoyed by both the heroine and the yukito. Things will be fine if they COMMUNICATED. I will love this manga if the author didn't ruin it with pointless 'rivals' However, the couple is still very adorable and I will recommend the manga to people who are bored and not looking for anything ground breaking smile

Not only is she annoying, but the pedestal that she places herself on needs to be blown up. Seriously, she treats her boyfriend like garbage, rarely lets him even hug her and she expects to keep himconfused I am really hoping he gets taken by another girl and learns her lesson for being so annoyingly self-centred and ignorant.

Cliched shouja at its WORST
by PJ1

If you read shoujo manga... you know the deal. It's going to be filled with the typical cliches.

Some manga get it right and shoujo can be a sweet, fluffy treat for readers. However, others are simply boring, unoriginal and filled with empty, one-dimensional characters. That is what Bokutachi wa Shitte Simatta is. An overly shy, heroine who blushes at everything, and her way too cool boyfriend who she feels ridiculously insecure around spend the entire manga being depressed and suffering through a melodramatic relationship. The manga consists of a bunch of arguments and misunderstandings that occur because the heroine is just incapable of speaking up for herself. It gets to be very boring very quickly.

THIS GETS ON MY NERVES. how many times can you misunderstand a person or push someone away? God! If i were Yukito i wouldn't even bother with karin-look-a-like but then there are those moments when i truly like Kotori so it makes me sad T_T

Read if you liked Kare First love or other works by this mangaka.

easy read shoujo
by doroteya333

Somewhat similar to kare first love, but here the girl is more naive and much weaker and the guy...he is very hard to categorize, having read available chapters I couldn't really understand his personality. The only thing which is clear is that both of them are pretty much clueless about each other's feelings.
Pii (way to go, great way to nickname your gf!) is even more naive than your average shoujo heroine, I liked how she plays games though; the model is a nice character too, although very typical, a wiser older- sister-helper who befriends our poor girl for no obvious reason, found in many shoujo manga.
Overall, your average shoujo, cliché but not frustrating like other similar works. So far, only 20 chapters have been scanlated, I am not sure we will ever see the end of this affair (although we surely can predict the ending). 6/10

Good Progress Award

You know how some manga series can give you the 10-star impression from the beginning, but halfway through it all falls apart? Like Bleach. Well, this one's the opposite: nauseating at the start but improving rapidly by the current chapter.

The premises are very, very unbelievable - so "perfect" I can't even call them cliche. The boy likes the girl from the get-go for no real reason whatsoever other than that the plot has to flow and there has to be romance. Oh, and this love remains - if not grows - even though, as the boy himself notes, she really only mouths three syllables throughout: "ah", "oh" and "uh". (To unsuspecting readers out there: this is NOT something even remotely attractive.) If you have no stomach for unwarranted mushy behaviour from a supposed former-yankee (I bet most people would've forgotten that little detail, especially the author), then you might not want to try it at all.

But the saving grace comes in the middle, when a new character is revealed as the old one, and this new character (thankfully) has some level of complexity, history AND isn't the shoujo airhead that every other girl here seems to be. Plus, she's on the good side, and has to be converted back later on. Ibuki really is the saving grace, and she pulls everyone else up: Kotori is forced to mature, and Yukito finally plays a boyfriend role other than obsessive pervert.

This manga has potential to eventually hit even 9 on my rating scale, if it continues this winning streak and has a powerfully touching conclusion. I recommend it so long as you can tank the cheesiest shoujo cliches, else you'd better skip the first 5 chapters.

I don't actually know why this manga touches me, but it definetely does! The female protagonist is weak and the male one is a bishie. But the art is so cute and beautiful and the story drags me into it. Why should I abandon cliché Shojo-manga if they are heart-warming? It IS similar to Kare First Love, but that doesn't mean it's not a manga you can enjoy :-)
