Oversaturated vs Undersaturated...

There's quite a number of series that I've come to dislike for a multitude of reasons, but I don't have any major issues with this series that would normally have me slamming my head against the nearest wall available. That being said, my problem with the series stems from this being an adaptation to its Light Novel predecessor, instead of a decent enough manga series that can stand alone. Chances are the original source material covers various topics further in depth compared to this mess.
As far as being "Oversaturated," there's a ton of political talk and strategizing going on, yet none of it ever seems to hold any weight with the chosen art style. For what I figure could be much grittier as to show the sinister nature of both war and death in this setting, the art style for the characters designs dominates to have everything come off as either too lighthearted or too "generic." Now that's not to say that the series should completely be a gritty dark fantasy world like that of Berserk, but it definitely gives me the impression that it's meant to strive for something similar throughout the action sequences, only to end up failing from the very start. When there is no fighting going on, the tone can (and does) shift to being more of that previously mentioned lightheartedness as for taking a nice breather from all the action, which can be perfectly fine. However, the overused cliches like "accidentally seeing a girl naked" or "accidentally groping boobs while sleeping" only serves to be increasingly frustrating to have to deal with.
And my biggest gripe with all this unnecessary ecchi thrown in is that it's completely unneeded for what could be a decent enough relationship blossoming between the two leads. This is where I find things to be "Undersaturated," as for having the relationship not take off and instead be a lame, open-ended harem where almost every girl has some sort of feelings for the protagonist, despite some of them barely knowing anything about him other than the fact that "he's kinda cute." Oh and speaking of the protagonist, I'll agree with Afterlifesinner that at least he's an archer and not a swordsman like a dozen other generic series that could share the same genre tags as this one. While it's a decent shift from the usual choice of weaponry, it doesn't hold up as being so interesting throughout the series, and of course ends up being upgraded to "magical archery" based on some kind of bullshite lineage involving an evil Goddess's powers (I don't remember the details...). Otherwise, how else would the protagonist be on the same level with the rest of the magical-powered girls of the series? He could be incredibly cunning when it comes to utilizing the possible weaknesses of his foes you say? No no, that would clearly be too thoughtful to write about in such a series like this one...
[Sidenote:]
I know that LN covers can go through different artists designing them, especially since they're just the covers and not all the illustrations within, but what's up with the varying styles of this one character in particular? Definitely not a big deal at all, but just something I found to be a bit odd...

Too slow, read the LN or watch the Anime instead.

Gosh I hate monthly manga. Only a few of them make it worth the wait to read them. This is not one of them. The anime has surpassed this manga in terms of plot progression and the LN is fully translated as of it's latest volume. So do yourself a favour and look to those two mediums first rather than rely on this snail paced storytelling.
A good start

The basic story setting has lots of potential to grow into a great story. The ecchi is tolerable.I am thankful that the protagonist is an archer rather than a swordsman. Atleast the author tried to break away from the cliche. I recommend it for a boring day.
