Well, I guess it's quite cute, but...I'm sorry, comedy's not for me =/
I wasn't much interested from the description already - the only reason I actually read it was because a friend of mine said it was awesome.
It's not believable how Ichijou falls in love with Hayashi. He just met him, and already liked him because of some stupid "he's not afraid of my dad's power" thing. And then, he didn't do anything really meaningful to get Hayshi to fall for him, he only did some childish stuff. I didn't believe Hayashi loved him, either. As a result, Ichijou saying "I love you" all the time made the expression be overused and not have the same impact.
All of that caused me to even LIKE Itsuki when he appeared - and aren't readers supposed to hate him? - and think he actually loves Ringo despite what he's done - still, I didn't cry at that part, and it's supposed to be a really sad past.
And frankly, I was scared that Ichijou was the seme. C'mon, he's such a girl! He even cries and stuff...I prefer manly semes. Although I do like his determined side.
But I'm actually pretty much [i]into[/] that seme/uke division. I don't like when the line is blurred, and it's not only when it comes to sex. Semes should be who's more agressive in the relationship, while ukes should be a bit more submissive - but not enough to be girly.
Also, for a teacher x student relationship to work, the student has to be very mature (especially to be the seme!!) and Ichijou is such a baby!
Hayashi, on the other hand, was quite likable. I like his personality and his devilish side! He's so mean I cracked up!
And as for the side characters, along with the main couple, they were too plain not to be a total stereotype, but I ike them even so. Especially Mitsui, who got t be my favorite.
But the main issue for me was: I was much more interested in Yone's necessity to fall in love than on the main couple's relationship. I wished he'd be with Mitsui, but it turned out even that wasn't how I expected, since the extras are about him with Ninomiya.
As for the plot...it's SO overdone! Even Mishima-sensei has already done a similar story (if not the same thing) herself! Try reading "Reverse!", also by her, and you'll see it. Plus, it didn't get my attention long enough to keep me reading it. There were times I really wanted to give it up.
And then there's the main problem: of course they are teacher x student, but no one cares, because it's totally allowed for a teacher and a student to be holding hands in front of the whole school! If you want some serious teacher x student, read Ano Kado wo Magatta Tokoro
Ahh...and I'm getting sick of criticizing =/
I know a lot of people will complain about my comment, but...they're relationship was rushed. As well as the sex. In only this bit they suddenly loved each other deeply and intensely, and Ringo just basically said "fuck me" as soon as they confessed to each other, even though he had a previous trauma... Ichijou, to make it worse, never went out with anybody and was probably a virgin, and of course he knew how to have sex, especially with a man. He didn't even get nervous. And then there was the "suck me" part. I'm sorry, but it wasn't sexy at all! It totally ruined the moment, to be sincere.
The only reason I'm not rating this 1 is because I don't hate it. It's not that it's particularly bad...it's quite cute, but nothing new and full of cliché situations.
If you're just looking for some distraction, to spend time and stuff, it's okay to make you laugh a little and because it's lovely.
But if you're actually looking for a deep, intense plot, a title that's going to be forever in your memory, "Miwaku no Ringo" is not for you.
PS: How can so many of you give this and 10 and said "you've read a lot of yaoi"? I'd expect this from someone who hasn't read much, but from someone so experienced, how can you rate cliché-ism as one of your favorites? (because that's what 10s mean to me)
