From Viz:
Momoko is a "Lolita" stranded in the boondocks of rural Ibaraki prefecture, although she'd much rather be living in the Palace of Versailles. Ichigo is an impulsive member of a girls-only biker gang who firmly believes in honor, loyalty, and fist fighting. Together this unlikeliest of duos strikes out on a journey to find a legendary embroiderer who might just be able to make their dreams come true.

Also in this series are two original stories by Yukio Kanesada, Koyubi-hime and its sequel, Nakayubi-hime.

Ririka is a typical high school student except for the fact that she hates being treated like a child. In order to become a women, she is determined to fall in love with an older, more mature man. One day she meets a handsome business man by the name of Kashiwagi in her mother's jewelry store. Ririka is attracted by his calm and refined demeanor, but he appears to have a ring on his left ring finger...

Based on a 2002 light novel by TAKEMOTO Novala, which was also adapted into a live action movie in 2004.

Lousy Adaptation
Rating: 3.0 / 10.0

It's a shame the original novel isn't listed on this website. It's a fantastic story about an unlikely and touching friendship, and I would give it at least a '9'. The live action movie adaptation is also pretty good, and probably deserving of a 7.5 or 8. Sadly this manga features lousy rushed art, changes to the story that don't make much sense, and is padded by unrelated side stories. Give the novel a read. You'll be glad you did.

I'm a fan of the novel and the movie was okay, but the manga is the worst. Instead of taking up the entire volume, the actual adaptation only takes up about 1/4 of the book, which makes the story go by too fast and the events seem disconnected.

The whole story line was disconnected, the characters acted weird and a lot of the situations were laughable.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
these dudes try to get the lolita girl naked to see if she was cheating at pachinko

really? really now? that makes absolutely no sense at all and was just put in the plot to introduce 'prince charming'. the biker girl gang was stupid, and the people's actions werent realistic.
dont read it.

many other things could have happned if there were a couple of volumes more...

but as for what i read...i like the characters!!! ichigo and momoko and also raichi!!! they remind me of a fruit salad!!! <srawberry, peach and lychee...delish~>...the characters personality are lovable and everything is always hilarious...especially the "i will grab their balls" part and she really did!!!

but one thing...what happens to momoko and mr. isobe afterwards?? thats why i hate short stories...

but i also like the side story!!! the girl trying to be mature even though shes still childish...but i like the way that she left the guy!!!~

I read the first chapter in Shojo Beat and the manga is defenitly not as good, but good in it's own right. Everything is out of order and Ichigo looks like a boy, but once you get past that part I'm sure it's good

I haven't read the novel or seen the movie, but this manga was pretty good in its own right! I really enjoyed it - and the side story was excellent, as well. I'd recommend it. Now I want to see that movie...
