Very much a slice-of-life

I have put this manga on hold at around chapter 20 due to other reviews talking about how after X chapters the main characters end in the background. Around chapter 10 I started to doubt how this manga came to 64 chapters. After around chapter 10 there isn't any more progression in terms of the main chars and it is obvious that the rest of the manga is about them getting to marriage/etc. Even then I didn't understand how it could reach any more then 30 chapters. Well, it obviously did and most of that is likely due to how much of a slice of life this is.

The story is slow but sincere. Interactions between the characters have not changed much over these 20 chapters and there is seemingly little character growth, moreso character discovery if anything. I guess this is all a strong aspect of SoL so now would be the best time to say that SoL probably isn't my thing. :/ Otherwise the comedy is enjoyable but nothing amazing, the ecchi is well-handled, and lastly the borderline-H too is well handled - not very excessive as others have said. The romance is obvious and such and the art is unique to the eyes but nothing too amazing.

Overall this has been decent so far but is not my slice-of-genre so I can't be so enthused as others. I definitely recommend this to anyone who likes ecchi/romance/borderline-H but there is essentially no drama. I'm sure to finish this someday, maybe my view on it will change a bit.

Hentai with a decent story?

No actual private parts are drawn but it's very much hentai. With that said, it has a story; albeit it's only a decent romance story with almost no drama but relationships built upon onsen service and sex (education). Truth be told, it's quite heartwarming.

Except for the main couple, all the other characters are really shallow. Instead of Koibana Onsen, this manga should be called geisha onsen or borderline prostitution onsen. By borderline prostitution, the staff members give "service" to bachelor customers. Wink wink. Hence, a lot of characters in this manga are quite shallow. Only the main couple felt like they ever had true romance. The side characters' romances just felt like their relationships were built upon pure lust rather than love/emotions.

It's a light and silly read but there were a lot of questionable forced oral sex situations (almost rapey due to many of the side characters' lack of willpower to reject advances).

If this story was mainly focused on the main couple, I would've given it a 9. However, halfway through the series, the main couple becomes sidelined and the side characters become the main focus, which was boring if you didn't care for the shallow side characters. Literally the last 4 volumes of the series focus on the side characters. I only forced myself to finish this series because I wanted to know the ending for the main couple. Overall, it's a 7.

This got a really nice slice of life - style story, very nice art, and smooth atmosphere.
I read this manga whenever I need some relaxing after a hard day at work and believe me, it helps ^^.
Well, I learned some stuff from this manga, honestly.
I dont know if its true and really thought through, but the way the author describes sex and the way to handle it, really makes you think about it a little longer after reading this. (yeah, hard to deny it... it's really 75% about sex here ... although its put into a nice ethic jacket.)
great manga all in all!

I though that i was going to puke with this awesome (in some way) horrible plot...
omg...this is a Love Hina, but worst, with a lot o H scenes,
and Love Hina isn't that good to start with...
this is a hentai without the pus** be sincere...
there ARE hentais with better plot...

A light-hearted read for those softcore hentai lovers out there, Koibana Onsen employs no subtleties that would cause the reader to think twice on the romance that unfolds. Flat characters revolving around an emerging, linear passion provides an easy and light atmosphere that causes the reader to crave for more. The sex is not wanton, and principles are not abandoned.

An amazing read for those of age. There isn't anything lacking that I can think of, and the author does an amazing job of storytelling here (slice of life style). Love the art, characters, humor when it is there, mature scenes, and w/e you can name... but there is no such thing as perfection; and this manga is no exception; so a 9.5 will do.

great manga! i love No Bra, other manga from this author, and i started reading this one. At first, i just was reading it cuz fuuka is very alike yuki, from No bra(only in the appearance, heh), but it is a very good read. This manga isn't alike alot other, with the protagonist being a perverted loser. the guy is very kind, and the girls are very good too(heh).

Finally a manga that does all of the following.
1. The main Protagonist is NOT a loser.
2. Its a harem where there is only ONE couple. The rest are just there.
3. The couple gets together in the BEGINNING of the manga
4. SEX. A perfect amount. Not too much, and not too little.
5. People actually trying to get the main couple together.
6. No dark deep secret of the past.

Oh, and the description is kind of misleading. The "ex-girlfriend" doesnt really play a part in this story that much. Its mostly about the 3 Onsen girls, and the main guy.
