I love this manga. It's really pretty good, and I would suggest reading it. Maybe I'm a mature junkie? Who knows. But the mature-ness was just what I was looking for, and their is some depth to the manga, at least. Different from many of Shinjo Mayu's other works, and that's what I like.

The one thing that makes me waver: Kurumi. The female protagonist is so annoyingly stupid I could off myself, because it ruins the manga slightly for me. I wish she were a little stronger, smarter, something to give her that amazingness. It maybe wishful thinking, and I know she adds to the drama slightly (?) but c'mon, really. The innocence thing can only go so far in this manga, when it demands maturity like this.

Besides that, the manga is really good, so don't let Kurumi stop you. If you're into the maturity and the not-the-typical shoujo thing, I definitely recommend this. ^^

EDIT: The ending is stupid and sad, damnit. D= And, after re-reading this, I lied. Let Kurumi stop you. Really, there have been some dumb ones, but Kurumi takes the cake, and I mean that.

Too many sexual abuse! It's too frightening .......i mean how can a girl stand so many incident like that........and also Rape!

thought the plot is interesting but the rape and sexual abuse is overwhelming that i have to drop it in the mid-way

i can't believe i read to mid-way...........

i find myself sick........actually the whole story is really a girl's nightmare!

I don't know what went through my head, but my opinion has changed as I read some of the chapters again. It made me realized how stupid the whole manga is, and probably the worst manga I've read... EVER. Mayu Shinjo loves to write mangas about a poor innocent girl getting bullied by a guy who's obviously more rich and superior than she is, and it's pathetic. Highly offensive to any girls that read this.

A girl who continues to love someone who has hurt her, is a total bleedin' moron. No way around it.
Even if "love" was what was between those two. I gave up after the second chapter, because I just could not take the pathetic, helpless nature of Kurumi.

And how the jekyll can you go along with glorification of the mafia like that? It is unrealistic in the worst way.

although i read Shinjo's other mangas too, this particular one stuck in my mind. i don't know, whether it was because of the sex content, the twisted male character or the ending . however, in the end i found its story shallow and unrealistic.while reading I compared it with the Minegishi Nobuaki's "Old Boy", which is far better written and more complicated than this one, simply because of its mysterious and psychological elements.

If you have too much spare time, you can read it. But it is definitely not for the kids biggrin

I read up to the first chapter of the seventh volume. This story is really cheesy. It was good for the first four volumes, I won't deny it, but it just started to drag on and on and to be honest I'm sick of it.

I don't recommend this at all.

It is not about immaturity...This to me, was a horrid thing. I got to vol 4 and gave up consequently afterwards. It's not that I or perhaps anyone who agrees with me don't understand that he loves her, but there is no excuse for what he's done to her. And that thing about her still loving doesn't end so quickly, and it's much harder when someone is in an abusive relationship.
It might reflect what happens in some aspects, in real life to many people...but that doesn't take it away from being horrible. I don't think it's anywhere near the best manga I've read.
I've read others that discuss issues such as rape, or the romanticizing of the mafia, but by far...this has been the worst. The plot, I didn't even find any logic in it. I understand the lack of it after vol. 3. Abused people tend to lack logic, because they are being psychologically manipulated in many ways, in order to think that what's happening it's what was meant to happen. But the beginning, has no logic. The main female character has no brains whatsoever, and that just makes it worst!

Can you people not know that it is really real love between Kurumi and Hakuron? Just because he rapes her and all doesn't mean he don't love her, even if he does those horrible things. You all may think that it is twisted, it kind of is, but you don't understand the basic true meaning of this story...She loves him still after all he had done, he loves her and does all those things, but only to protect her and he gets jealous. He wants her for himself and he really does love her. She also loves him because she can never forget him. Though at the's heartbreaking...they should have been married and lived happily ever's a horrible ending...I hate tragedy, but I love the romance. So what if it's smut, people need to be more mature about it...sooner or later in your life time you are eventually going to do it or see it, it's the cycle of life....sigh...I just want to get that out. Love is Love, don't question it!
