Brilliant and overachieving, Misaki Ayuzawa is the President of the Student Council at Seika High School, formerly a boys' school. Unfortunately, most of the students are still male and stuck in their slovenly habits, so man-hating Misaki really socks it to 'em in an attempt to make the school presentable to attract more female students. But what will she do when the sexiest boy in school finds out that after school, Misaki works in a maid cafe.
Also included in this manga is a short story called Toumei na Sekai in volume one.

At first I was only reading it because I was bored and it was the first thing I laid my eyes on. I thought it was boring and it really kind of made me mad with the whole 'yeah I'm a feminist and I am working towards womens rights in my school but I am somehow forced into this degrading job as a maid/waitress type thing' but for some reason I just had to keep reading it. It might be because I enjoy mangas about strong girls who dont always go to the guy for help because they cant do anything for themself. It's good. I like it how so far there isn't all this drama about the guy straying from the girl or other girls trying to get the guy. I like it how he knows what he wants and in his eyes there is nothing else. I dont know why but I hate guy/girl/girl love triangles.
At first yes it is great, the art is nice, but after reading many chapter, i think it didn't to addictive, and somehow boring. The storyline keep repeated about how the man become a prince to help the girl..
Well, i'll keep reading it for now, i hope it will be interesting in the next chapter.. (/-_-)/(/-_-)/
I dunno if it's only me but isn't it that after the weak and crybaby heroines , now we have a trend for the ones that are strong but super dense...
Overall what we have here we already saw in many more titles..yes IT IS funny and interesting, but without a solid plot development just how long will it last..?

At first,it wasn't as good as i thought it would be.It was just light-hearted and full of comedy. But over-time,I started liking the flow and turns out its gonna be one of my favorite mangas.I like the way Usui gets jealous but Misaki is just too dense to know its about her >.<! I also like the fact that she works at a Cafe!~ So for this manga,i give it a 10/10.
In the beginning it was fine, a nice cute little story. And I adored Usui and Misaki was also kind of cute too. But somewhere around the middle Usui warped and now I can't stand his attitude. I tried twice to pick this series back up, but then his attitude just put me off
So if you like the cliche mean-for-no-reason and possessive guy in your shoujo, I suggest you pick this up and run with it. As for me I'll be ditching it.

the story kicks butt
i liked it to begin with because its funny and smart. i'd braced myself against the dissapointment when the "girl who thinks too highly of her abilities fails and needs the bad*ss lead male to save her" moment came around, and i was amazed, excited, thrilled (insert positive adjective here) when the lead female was bad*ss enough to take care of her own d@mn self.
i do admit the master/sub aspect intrigues me- understanding the willing submission of a proud female and the care a master gives his sub. and this story offers characters credible enough in their intelligence and common sense to allow for me to take the subject seriously. of course, that isn't the main focus of the story, though i see aspects of it poking through.

get boring really quick
Completly agree with Rainy_x_DaySs ..
Pro: Nice art works, story is funny sometime Con: NOTHING happens after chapter 10, it's just boring. The main male character is a insensitive annoying bastard.
It starts out very good then everything just goes flat, no development, the stories consist solely of the guy harassing Kaichou, she like it and annoyed by it at the same time. The harassment jokes were funny the first 5 times but then it's just more of the same thing. Recomend the first 10 chapters. After that drop it and find something else to read.
Honestly the art is beautiful, the main characters are funky, but... it goes nowhere, and doesn't even make an attempt at breaking the status quo. This is Special A all over again!
i was disappointed with this manga!! Sorry to those Kaichou wa maid-sama fans >_< at first i loved it ,then around chapter 6 i realized it was pretty boring i mean it was already established that she liked him and he liked her too. There was no development in there relationship and i have no clue why she liked him besides the fact that he's like her savior in tough situations and he's hot? o_O it is enjoyable to read if your into comedic-love with some steamy situations i guess, but overall this manga in my opinion isn't that great of a choice if you want to read something that will move the heart.
Hurray for potato otaku :D
well FINALLY theres some conflict in it >_> and now there actual development in takumi and misaki's relationship. chapter 23 ftw. well, it took a while but now its getting better (finally after a bunch of chapters full of...you get my point XD) so I suggest that if you were not impressed with it before then the recent chapters could probably make you happier. just a suggestion. Very impressed with the plot twist at the moment, good job.
