Brilliant and overachieving, Misaki Ayuzawa is the President of the Student Council at Seika High School, formerly a boys' school. Unfortunately, most of the students are still male and stuck in their slovenly habits, so man-hating Misaki really socks it to 'em in an attempt to make the school presentable to attract more female students. But what will she do when the sexiest boy in school finds out that after school, Misaki works in a maid cafe.
Also included in this manga is a short story called Toumei na Sekai in volume one.

one of the BEST!!!!!!!!
it's really one of my faves.............. i just love...................IT!!!!!!!!!! READ it.......... it will surely satisfy you........ and you will surely want for more..... a mix of drama, comedy and romance................. it's one of the best... outstanding manga!!!!!!!!!!!
this is on my top 10 fav shoujo!
this story is really cute, just reading the first ch u can see it! This is in the same level as Special A.
One of my top 5!
I honestly do enjoy this manga! I've seen the anime too, but when i began reading the manga I had to begin at Chapter 36 (something along those lines) because I wouldn't want to read something i already saw in the anime. There is Hilarious Comedy which always leaves me laughing for 'ages', The sweetest (at least in my opinion) romantic moments, and then theres the sad moments ...... Anyways...To sum it all up, this is a great manga! 10/10! The Female lead is strong and smart, but she still has her weaknesses The fact that she is a Tsundere just adds to her character, in my opinion, it just makes it more interesting The male lead is interesting as well Love the art too ^_^

Double as long as it should have been.
In my opinion this manga was really really a favorite till midway when
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
they finally got together
after that the whole plot was filler filled, boring, overly sweet and overly complicated and i really disliked the ending. Loving this series so much in the beginning does leave you even more disappointed, so maybe my rating is a bit harsh. Either way, I would recommend to read this manga only till the mentioned part and drop it after that.
It's better Han your average romance shoujo.I was able to read the first chapter after all but when it comes to it it is still shoujo like cliche and annoying.this might be the only saving grace I have to shoujo except two classics no.6 and crush on you.if you want a romance shoujo that isn't as terrible as the rest read this but if you want real manga read Seinen or BL.shoujo and shounen are cliche and promote boring "friendship can get you through anything"
I am so Mitsuki
Mitsuki isn't a squealy girl like a lot of shoujo heroines. She's tough, scolds a lot, and she has a bad memory (many shoujo heroines don't). Her father left her mother with a ton of debt, so she hates men. Now she's the school president of a school formerly a boy's school? Oh dear... She scolds them to snap back into shape, which is needed, but she is too harsh on them and not on the girls. Usui, the most handsome boy at school, who is a bit mischiveous (not too much) finds out about her job as a maid, and starts to come everyday. This story shows Mitsuki and Usui trying to keep her job a secret, and how they get to know each other. The art is really good, not to mention the comedy is nice, and the slowly progressed romance is nice. :3 However, a little drawn out... I still love it! 9 stars.
I'm so sorry but I dont understand the appeal
I believe that both leads are interesting, but what is the story? I've read 50 chapters and i am still bored out of my mind. If someone could explain why this manga is so popular I would love to listen, but so far, in my opinion, it lacks plot and point. Each chapter is monotonous and lacks stakes. My overall impression is that the piece is "blah".
Hard to describe.
The overall plot is quite interesting. The main protagonist gives off a strong, stubborn type of character, however, there isn't much character development. The love interest becomes a crowd favorite, although, in my opinion, there isn't that much development in his character, as well as the relationship between the two.

Wow, I love this manga. It is by far one of the best Shoujo Mangas I have ever read! I love how Ayuzawa is such a strong female. Only one other Shoujo manga I have ever seen has such a strong female lead.(Special A) Usui is the perfect match for her. I love this series but I wish it would have scanlated releases more often. Awesome!!! Is it going to start getting released in English? *cheers*

i like it :D
I wasn't wild about the series before, but with the later chapters (i've read through ch4) I think it's getting better. Misaki is a pretty cool heroine... not exactly the undecisive crybaby typical of shoujo. Like bluesonnet said, I also like how she can be strong (really strong!) but also know when she's reached her limit and needs help. While there's still plenty of typical shoujo-y stuff, this series also has its charming and unique points, I think. I hope it continues to get better!
