Brilliant and overachieving, Misaki Ayuzawa is the President of the Student Council at Seika High School, formerly a boys' school. Unfortunately, most of the students are still male and stuck in their slovenly habits, so man-hating Misaki really socks it to 'em in an attempt to make the school presentable to attract more female students. But what will she do when the sexiest boy in school finds out that after school, Misaki works in a maid cafe.
Also included in this manga is a short story called Toumei na Sekai in volume one.

i like it :D
I wasn't wild about the series before, but with the later chapters (i've read through ch4) I think it's getting better. Misaki is a pretty cool heroine... not exactly the undecisive crybaby typical of shoujo. Like bluesonnet said, I also like how she can be strong (really strong!) but also know when she's reached her limit and needs help. While there's still plenty of typical shoujo-y stuff, this series also has its charming and unique points, I think. I hope it continues to get better!
This manga is soooo awesome!! I like the main character, which means Misaki and Usui! I like Misaki the most! She can be categories as bishoujo and bishounen.

I can definitely stop reading it
I've read somewhere between the 2nd to 3rd volume. Don't remember cause its been awhile, I didn't even know what this manga was by the name. Its pretty crappy. I'm being plain and simple. It's cliche and crappy. I'm going to give it another try, and dropping it if it doesn't get any better.
if you really think about ir, its already 3 volumes and all you c is chapters about how strong the kaichou is , come on theres really no plot, no character growth nor plot twist nor or anything, just individual chapters. its okay for the first chapter cause its like an introduction of the characters, in this case its like the introduction goes on and on and on and on. its a great original idea that its beeing torn to pieces little by litle by the author, if this keeps on, my rate of this series will also keep going down until i loose faith and stop reading
high level of kawaiiness~
For some reason, this manga really reminds me of Special A.I really really like the female lead. She's so cool and strong!! Can't wait for the next release~~
Strong start then a whimper
Starts off as a good take on the fairly common "tough girl and jerk" storyline: she's genuinely tough but not hard-hearted and he's not too much of a jerk and clearly cares about her, but it dengenerates pretty quickly: she requires rescue too often and he's portrayed as more and more of a superman and moreover starts tormenting her like a typical character of this type, making it difficult to take either of them seriously, and it's clearly not set up as a gag series.
Another series that starts strong and quickly falls into cliches and cheap tricks to keep going.
I wish I could like this series. I really do. The art is good. I tend to love series made for female otaku, and this is one. I love the main character, who is the strongest and most admirable shoujo heroine I've seen in recent manga. The yuri undercurrents in the maid shop and the yaoi undercurrents with Yukimura are great. And for the record, I love Yukimura. But I just can't make myself like this manga for the sole reason that is Usui. He's described as "the perfect guy" (mostly because he's good-looking and can cook), but he's anything but. He's constantly harrassing Misaki as if to make her act more feminine. He actually threatens to rape her once when she was acting too "butch lesbian" to remind her that she's actually a girl. Character traits that could work in a less-cliche story... but this is a character we're supposed to think is sexy. It's pretty disgusting.
But then, well, if you do think that kind of guy is sexy, then go ahead and read this manga. But only after you prepare yourself for a lifetime of misery.
In the beginning it was fine, a nice cute little story. And I adored Usui and Misaki was also kind of cute too. But somewhere around the middle Usui warped and now I can't stand his attitude. I tried twice to pick this series back up, but then his attitude just put me off
So if you like the cliche mean-for-no-reason and possessive guy in your shoujo, I suggest you pick this up and run with it. As for me I'll be ditching it.

i was disappointed with this manga!! Sorry to those Kaichou wa maid-sama fans >_< at first i loved it ,then around chapter 6 i realized it was pretty boring i mean it was already established that she liked him and he liked her too. There was no development in there relationship and i have no clue why she liked him besides the fact that he's like her savior in tough situations and he's hot? o_O it is enjoyable to read if your into comedic-love with some steamy situations i guess, but overall this manga in my opinion isn't that great of a choice if you want to read something that will move the heart.
i love ds!
i luv ds i luv ds i luv ds!!!!!

highly recommended to people who love to read happy-go-lucky mangas! but i hope their romance will develop.. sooner i hope!
