From Viz: Are the woes of the present meant to be endured for the promise of a better future or to atone for past wrongs? In a captivating epic of love, fate, and faith, seven young people must struggle with this spiritual puzzle as their alien past lives threaten the future.
at first, i just read it to kill some time, but something about the manga made it...really interesting in a way. It's art had improved subtly throughout the series, and, although, it may seem simple at first, the drawings were actually quite complex and fun to look at. The plot was complex and interesting, but it wasn't the type of plot, where, you had to go back and think "Ok...so who was this person with again...??" The story just kind of grows on you. I also love how it isn't just about Sakaguchi, and how, more than half the story, it's about the other characters and how they dealt with everything both in past and present.
Well, I probably didn't make much sense, but I definitely recomment this series.
It's an intense drama-manga really. And the characters are very engaging. I actually finished these 12 volumes in a row I don't know why but I feel heart-wrenched after finishing it. Especially Shion's. I agree, he's not that great, and he seemed to deny his feelings until the end, perhaps caused by incredible loneliness and the inability to receive and perceive love, which I found really really painful. And that really gets me.
This manga is so good. Some of the plot can be draggy at times. Or more like scientific explainations, I always skim through those, they are so long. But overall I don't think anything big hinders the plot and a lot of things are cleared up at the end.
I really liked the parts where they showed the childhood of Mokuren and Shion. It's incredibly sad. The OVA was pretty good too, although they finished halfway (or less) of the manga. I didn't mind. The music was really good.
I've read up until the third volume but stopped. I've heard rave reviews about this series but the first three volumes haven't been that engaging. The story itself is fine, but the problem I have with the manga so far is the characters Rin and Arisu. Rin is an annoying selfish brat, and Arisu is total pushoever - there's a limit to how nice one should be. All the other characters are very engaging, but it is unfortunate that the two "main" ones are so annoying. In addition

Shion isn't all that great either. Sure he was wronged (but even we don't know if Shuukuidan's actions were intentional) by Shuukuidan, but to go to that extent to get revenge on him in the next life is is reprehensible.
If someone can tell me that the characters change or become more engaging in future volumes, I'll definitely have another crack at it, but at the moment two characters are keeping me from enjoying this manga.
I was hesistent to read it for a while because i didn't think it would be any good. But when i did i cried severl times especially about rin and arisu (alice). I recommand this manga to everyone.
how does she do it? the mangaka is amazing. and yea, the plot is really intense. there's still alot i didn't understand though...for example, like why did they reincarnate if the earth was already saved by _______! i mean i can get why mokuren and shoin reincarnated...it was to see each other...but what about the rest.. Another thing i dont get is...what happens next. i suppose they dont continue to reincarnate...cos they're already 'set free' to the atmosphere?
lol, this is what happens when you're too excited and skim every sentence. overall, i think its a great story and definitely worth reading. its true the art is kinda old...and the beginning is weird (well, i thought so)...dinosaurs on the first page -_-"" you'll see.
great characters and intense story, so I couldn't ask for more! The art work gets better as you get more into it which is a plus. Definately worth a read when you have free time on your hands.
I'm in agreement with Dragonfiremule with Shion, he officially became one of my favorite characters. Although he ties in closely with Rin (who I think is very cute!
hmm.. i don't understand some things... i really love this series alot but my mom doesn't like it at all.. ? hmm.. well i mean yeah oppinions but dude.. how can she not like it that much...?
