During a flashback, an interviewer inquires Kuzumi Taiga, a prospective student for Seinagi Private High School, on what he would do if he could use magic, during his entrance interview. He replies, "take over the world", with an outburst of laughter, from an attractive girl, following his answer.
After the entrance exam, the school rejects his application; although he recalls almost nothing after this event, he does recall the girl, and believes the cause of his school of choice rejecting his application involves her.
Wandering around outside of the school the next day, Kuzumi tries to enter, but an invisible barrier blocks him. A teacher, Mr. Hiiragi, confuses Kuzumi for a student of the school ditching class and pulls Kuzumi into the school through the barrier.
Seinagi Private High School is actually a magic school and Mr. Hiiragi has just accidentally pulled Kuzumi, a teenager with no magical skill, through the barrier into this school.

Hated the ending

Spoiler (highlight to view)
I loved the manga as a whole, but the ending bugged me... All it needed was 1 or 2 more chapters so that kuzumi could come back with a gold plate and grant higgaris wish... It was pretty good otherwise and just to let you know, you cab totally tell this manga was axed... It easily had another 100 chapters in it or more
over all I recommend this manga... Tge reason for the eight was the unsatisfing ending

I followed it week by week every since chapter 20ish up until the ending.

There's a lot of themes in this manga that separates it from everything else, including but not limited to:
- A protagonist trying to hide a secret from everyone else
- Action, Comedy, Romance for a shounen audience
- Clever protagonist that uses brains, thats NOT a detective manga
- Super natural elements & abilities that made the story entertaining
- Protagonist always at a disadvantage but overcomes his obstacles
- Magic school fantasy setting

axed dreams

This manga is funny. It makes you look at matter over mind in a whole new aspect. It's a shame it got axed though but its understandable since the story was starting to become redundant with fillers. I wish they would've given a clearer ending. The whole point off the manga was to achieve "the dream" and that sure didnt happen. The dream was literally axed lol.

Haha, this one made me laugh quite a bit. The ending was the only part I seemed to dislike only because it should be continued or not left off like that! Though overall, Mx0 is a thoroughly fun and interesting read !

Another amazing read. But as you may or may not know, it got discontinued so the ending was rushed. But even so, it was still a great manga and I high recommend it. Sometimes I feel that the Japanese lack taste sometimes to let such an amazing manga go by. I highly doubt that this series will come back, but you can only hope you know?

All in all, it's one of the better mangas that I've read. Despite the ending, just go for it. You'll definitely won't look back!

This is not a manga you can really read from start to end without taking a break. It get's a little repetitive since there's not much plot but I found that the character development and the humor was pretty good. All in all, it's worth reading.

laugh out loud

this is one of the few mangas i've read that surprised a couple laugh out loud moments out of me. i loved the humor and the art and the stroy line. for some reason it seems like it was far far more popular with westerners than with the japanese. i wonder why? i think if it was licensed in sold in english they'ed find a different reception, and perhaps we would have been able to continue the sad, there was so much potental here.
wish they'd make a sequel or something.
you'll probably hate the end but the manga is still worth reading,

I really wish that it hadn't ended but oh well. This mangaka is really great. I enjoyed his work with Pretty Face.
I find the shounen manga to have a better grasp on romance than shoujo. The random ecchi was very funny in this manga. My favorite chapter was 10(+2) Pudding. It was just such random ecchi humor.
I also liked the idea of a magical school without wands or Harry Potter. It is hard to break out an old idea and make it your own.

Best in Genre

note that most people that hated this manga hate it because they want more of it. superb art, superb story, okay ending for an arc in a conventional manga. yes, very sad that there isnt more.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
it's a mangaka's manga, or a manga reader's manga. at times i think it's alot of negation of conventional manga-isms of this particular genre, and offered successful alternative to some of the usual pit-falls/eye-rollers:
(a) main char is suppose to be "the one", and power-up to no end, and become the strongest again and again.
(b) at the moment of crisis, the main char is suppose to become super-saiyan with aura overwetting everywhere and everything. and they dont ever need to use their brain.
(c) i think most manga readers expect a good series to go on forever and ever, till it doesnt even make sense anymore (think naruto)
(d) all the girls are suppose to be in love with the main char even though the main char is usually a douche.
(e) there are sexy/good premises at the beginning but no formal structure every existed before the execution of the manga itself. as time go on, everything becomes a cliche of another manga.
(f) OR there's only one type of villain: the bad guy. all that the main character does is fight the eternally available, or eternally unbeatable badness(es).
(g) special powers are not carefully formulated when necessary. usually they're left to some over-exaggerated pseudo-sciences that made you think you wish you knew less. or are based purely on emotions (love, hate/vengence)
