Description
From Chibi Manga:
After being transferred from school to school during her middle school years, Kanoko has entered Takara no Tani High School with Tsubaki. For some reason, she becomes the “Strategist” for Cultural Affairs Department in reference to the Three Kingdoms and ends up joining the Newspaper Club….?!
I highly recommend this manga. The heroine is refreshing, while the relationship between the two characters is very enjoyable. Make sure to read the prequel, though, before starting this series. I hope it doesn't end soon. In the shoujo world, it's rare to see a main character with so much spunk that keeps a reader's interest.
The story is really interesting. I like it how great she is in observing other people but clueless in something about herself. Like for the feelings of Tsubaki-kun. She still hasn't noticed. This manga is great. Great story. Great characters. I really love it! I hope for more! >w<
This manga is finally properly developed into a series instead of an episoded story. Plus it's just so cute how she just did a 180 degrees when it comes to Momo. Can't wait for more. This manga is definitely entertaining for those who want strong and intelligence female lead. But read the prequel first, it's awesome.
having read warau kanoko and now reading the sequel, which seems to focus more on tsubaki as a more stable constant in her life and her environment, i totally am rooting for this oblivious observer kanoko to grow. other people have asked why hasn't intelligent and perceptive kanoko become aware of tsubaki's affection for her when the answer is obvious: she observes other people and is very objective, but when it comes to tsubaki and herself, she's burdened by having to think subjectively, which is something she doesn't want to do or is very good at. she sort of exudes this inner psychological distance, as if.... she can't bear to be in tune with herself because she wouldn't know how to or what to really express so that's why she's always observed others and been so very objective in her findings. the funny thing is that, because she can't express herself very well, she also doesn't know how to interact well with others beyond platonic levels.
i think she's a wonderful female lead and i hope she doesn't become retarded like the majority of shoujo female leads. i also somewhat adore tsubaki and think him a perfect match for kanoko.
i recommend reading the prequel first, but even if you don't, the first two chapters should have you hooked.
I am totally loving this series! It's incredibly funny, and very unique. I especially loved the literature jokes in chapter 2 (Suikoden, LOL). It's so fun to read about a headstrong dense girl and a guy who's head over heels but just can't say it.
