So much better than SA
Rating: 10.0 / 10.0

Okay, first off, I highly disagree with those people who says that this is JUST LIKE SA. Sorry to say, this is way better than SA. I'm not saying this out of hate for SA because SA was the very first manga I read, finished and loved. I'm guessing that people only say that this is similar to SA because of Don't-want-to-be-2nd-forever spiel of the male lead. But that's the end of the similarity of these two manga. The male lead and female lead cannot be compared with SA's lead characters. They are two different couples.

Secondly, the plot IS MOVING. Others just say that its plot isn't moving because they are still loving the typical shoujo with confessions in the first few volumes and the rest of the volumes focuses on the relationship that can easily be broken by the third wheel. on the other hand, this story focuses not only on romance. It goes beyond romance towards true love. It think it's quite adorable that the author doesn't rush things for this manga. After all, you can't feel true love overnight.

Overall, I LOVE this manga. It forms a great plot and you can see how characters develop in a step-by-step process. By the way, the art is really pretty. It's simple and pleasing to the eyes.

Do yourself a favor and read it. One of the best mangas that I'm currently reading by far. Fun, cute and innocent, it's like a reversed role romance with the cutest guy ever!
Seriously, if you haven't read it yet how have you gone this long without picking it upconfused

I totally love Yanagi! He is sooo adorable everytime he freaks out over the smallest thing ^__^
I agree with a lot of the other comments; there are loads of similarities to Special A, but I loved that too (in fact SA was what got me into manga!) so I was really pleased to come across Last Game.
All the characters in this are loveable, and unlike a lot of shoujo heroines Kujou is smart, realistically pretty and isn't chasing after her love interest (in fact she's the one being pursued!) There's no whiny or useless women here, instead they're all strong-willed and emotionally stable.
To be honest I can't find a single fault in this; each character has a charming and vivid personality while the plot itself is (fairly) unique. Add a touch of humour, gorgeous art and plenty of "bathump" moments, and this just equals manga heaven <3

EDIT: So now i've currently read up to chapter 15, and it's started to disappoint me slightly because it's now turning out like so many other shoujo manga
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
since Souma seems to be falling for Kujou too.... *sigh*
so now i'm just hoping that it will steer clear of all that love-triangle nonsense and that it'll recapture the spark it once had.

This manga reminds me of S.A so much >"<
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The detail that the one who confesses first is a loser appeared in S.A too T_T
I just finished chapter 3. And if I have something to say, It should be that S.A is way to much better ^^ The author really have to do something to make this one different than S.A a little bit ~.~

the plot was generally common, having one protagonist seeing the other as a rival, but the way the mangaka presented the story was interesting. its not your tear jerking type. its a good read if you're not into very deep plots.

the characters were unique. the female's personality was different compared to your stereotypical shoujo heroine (somewhat emotional). she doesnt assume to much things and does things at her own pace. although the male lead was your stereotypical hero (popular, handsome, perfect), i was somewhat intrigued by how he was portrayed. he needs more masculinity. its was cute seeing the way he tries to win over her and somehow fails, looking all weird.

It kind of reminds me of Special A, boy loves girl but girl is a dumbass and doesn't see it at first. (that sounded harsh but i like that cliche.) The big difference for me what that the guy was always behind the girl, that was interesting. It's a good story and i loved reading it.

It's like Special A, but the guy is actually the protagonist. The prince is trying to get the girl, but he's incapable of getting girls that aren't already in love with him. To complicate things further, the girl is (generally) emotionless and oblivious to his advances. With this setup, romance is slow, but so are many shoujo romances.

Plot advances fast in the beginning (elementary school to college in three chapters), but that simply sets the scene for college. There are many cute moments in this manga, and the artwork is a pleasure to look at. It's cliche, but nothing is overdone. An sweet, indulgent manga with nice art to go with it.

I totally love this series. It has sort of a easygoing feel to it (due to Kujou) and the art isn't bad.
The romance in this series seems to be moving slowly forward.
