i dont think this is a rip off skip beat, just because they both share the same kind of show biz genre kind of thing its very different. honey hunt is sweet and its really cute i think it'll be good .
Even though people say its a rip off of skip beat, the way things are playing out, it doesn't seem anything like it. Skip Beat is more happy, and comedy than this already, and which the plot is similar, the way the authors make the works move are really different, so there should be no fear of feeling '...haven't I read this already?' syndrome. I like that the main character isn't as much of a pushover as others in Aihara's works. She isn't exactly strong, but I think her personality suits the way she was brought up. :]
Don't worry, she'll get into acting to "get back at her mother" (Only someone nearly brain dead would think of this) No doubt it will turn out that her mom made things seem the way they do, in order to push her into acting, so in the future we'll have some tearful happy reunion between her and her parents. Yea! Oh well, time to find an actual story
You should stop saying it's a ripoff because a lot of mangas have similar plots and this manga is really interesting and deffienetly much better than the other ones...........except teachers pet though..............smuttlieshis
Yah, I didn't really like Skip Beat quite as much. I like Honey Hunt much MUCH better. Still, I recognize the whole "give-the-heroine-three-different-guys-to-choose" thing that Aihara-sensei has done for Hot Gimmick and all that. And I'm still waiting for Yura to go all crazy on her parents...oooh, I hope she gets back at that mean mum of hers. >:] Go Yura. FIGHTING!
Honey Hunt is lovely. As expected of Aihara Miki. I completely agree with Marei_23. I like Honey Hunt more than Skip Beat already after reading just one chapter! Although it does look like it's heading to an area similar to Skip Beat, as in going into the industry, and beating her opponent, I really don't think it will... If that made sense. But you know what? No matter how original anyone thinks their work is, someone will probably say they ripped it off somewhere.
Sure, it has a similar story element like Skip Beat...But, I find Honey Hunt to be a much more fun smuttier read and very much more enjoyable than Skip Beat. I know Skip Beat is popular but I never could get into the story. I'm looking forward to more of Honey Hunt.
after the first chapter..i really REALLY wanna know wat happens... but just in defence...but they didnt really rip off skip beat..cause if they did...the girl has to go evil and become a kick ass girl like kyoko..but that impossible...and kyoko ruless!!
I was a bit apprehensive when I began reading this since most of her work does have similar themes and such. It isn't that bad actually, though I can already imagine a lot of soap opera-ish drama happening in the later volumes. Yura so far doesn't have the spinelessness/wishwashyness or bigheadedness of some of Aihara's former heroines so I'm happy about that (but lets see how long that lasts).
I really love how her art has improved since Tokyo Shounen Shoujo
