Description
From ShoujoMagic: After failing the entrance exams to her school of choice, Hiyo Osora gets an acceptance letter from SM Academy. But she didn't even apply or take its exam! When she arrives, there's something amiss -- all the students are... monsters!? And the head of the student council says he's her fiancé right before he sprouts giant black wings! What strange fate brought Osora to SM Academy, and what supernatural fate awaits her after this!? *Volume 9 contains an extra story called Kitakubu.
Love Monster, in one word is just "cute". It's a verrrrry very shoujo-istic fantasy reverse-harem manga. Plotwise, I can't say much. But I read it for the humour. If you want a comedy then Love Monster is the right choice. However, in terms of an actual decent story, I'd say a *certain* manga by Kanoko Sakurakouji is better.
i love everything about it (well almost), but what i dont love is how they made hiyo/hiyoko way too small! im talking about elementary school girl here.. thats the only downside for me
I felt that the story is kind of rushed and the characters are too predictable and unrealistic. The art is not amazing in my opinion and the feelings that should come natural while reading a story feel somewhat forced........
It isn't a bad shoujo manga and overdose of bishies most girls will probably enjoy, however the plot line is very plain - the heroine gets kidnapped, sexually assaulted and then saved by the hero, rise and repeat.
It was fun for the first 10 times or so but after that it went dull. Once any now handsome bishie appears it is clear that he will attack and grope the heroine all around... Kind of plain if you ask me, Miyagi definitely lacks the originality here.
Good sides - humor and a good art, yet the story was too repetitive for my taste.
Don’t listen to the person below me, he/she doesn’t know what going on…lol Vampire Knight is good but the plot tend to change one to the next. And sometime it doesn’t make any sense. Don’t get me wrong, I have to read 7 times in order for me to like Vampire Knight, The story itself doesn’t hold my attention as Love Monster did.
I read it and didn't mind it, but that dosen't mean I'll read this again. Love Monster definately had it's strong and weak points. Sadly, the weak ones are what kept me from really liking this manga.
First of all, the strong points, which is what kept me reading. It was light hearted and funny at times, and made me laugh on occasion. I also didn't mind the plot, although as one reviewer before me has pointed out, it was a little choppy at times. Lastly, it was the mysteries unanwsered in Love Monster that kept me going (i.e. about Hiyo and kurou, which I won't spoil for you), and it is ultimately what made the manga really bearable for me.
Nonetheless, it was the weaknesses about this manga that made it far less enjoyable. The big down side so far about Love Monster is the heroine, who I found myself utterly despising despite my efforts not to. She was just to thinkheaded and silly for me to like her, and the number of times she was rescued and almost sexually assaulted frustrated me no end. The other down side was the smut, which while I don't mind in stories, seemed here a little distasteful here.
I seemed to have ranted about this a little more than I intended. Still, overall I would recommend it. However, if you looking for a supernatural manga along these lines with more likable characters and decent plot, I'd say try Vampire Knight first.
When I first read this manga, I thought it was so awesome. However, now that I reread it, the flow of the manga is too choppy. Even though the plot and art is good, the story doesn't really flow. I think that when I first read this I got to distracted by the art and immediately thought, "Wow, this is a really good manga." However, now I just think, "Sure the art is good, but the storyline doesn't really flow really well. I'm really not sure if I should continue this manga.
Forget what I said. This story is just plain horrible! After rereading it, I have concluded that this is the most unrealistic (not the setting cause that's suppose to be unrealistic) and strangest (not in a good way) manga EVER! The girl is liked by so many different guys its hard to keep count! She is "coincidentally" the mythical White Crow. Her fiancee is an all powerful demon who gets beaten up. She gets almost raped in almost every FREAKEN chapter, AND that's not all, the ENDING JUST PLAIN SUCKED!! I cannot even stress the fact that this manga was horrible, but I will say this, the art has not disappointed me. Sorry to all the people who like the manga, but I just don't like Love Monster. Period.
Got addicted to this not too long ago. Though it's good to hear that we can expect some scans by mid March. IDK why it's really labeled as smut most the smut I've seen are far more liberal when it comes to nudity Love Monster has none. But it's time to get to the point.
Since LRE has taken a break for a little while I've read the whole thing in Japanese raws. I love the first 3/4 of this manga and Hiyo and Kurou actually look good together but then Hiyo just starts to get downright stupid.and starts bouncing in between L (who in addition to the events in ch. 52 shows up later to do something even worse) and Kurou. They even throw Haine in the mix at one point. On top of that Kurou starts to get smacked around by everybody.
*sigh* IDK maybe when they get translated and I can understand the dialogue it will get better.
After reading other manga like this where the love connection is a bit stronger I'll have to give LM this:
Hey this is TomS from LRE, i'm happy to hear that everyone is anticipating the next release, all i can say is that you may have to wait a few weeks more since it is starting to get to crunch time at college. I am sorry that we can't be more consistent but we are doing this out of boredom and just for practice.
Anyway i hope to have 64 out by mid march at the latest.
I loved this manga from the start. Truth be told at first I was taken aback a litlle from the frequency of "adult" scenes (I am not sure but maybe smut could be added as genre?) not in a bad way though. They are not the style of fanservice - which I usually dont care much about. The story is great and funny and I adore the characters. I am little irritated though because it's been on a cliffhanger for some time. I hope they continue the scanlation soon (Ahhhh, I want to know what happens next.... :_( )
