Brilliant and overachieving, Misaki Ayuzawa is the President of the Student Council at Seika High School, formerly a boys' school. Unfortunately, most of the students are still male and stuck in their slovenly habits, so man-hating Misaki really socks it to 'em in an attempt to make the school presentable to attract more female students. But what will she do when the sexiest boy in school finds out that after school, Misaki works in a maid cafe.
Also included in this manga is a short story called Toumei na Sekai in volume one.

i'm so not into this manga. The artwork is just a so-so, added with a cliche storyline. But one thing that disturbed me the most is how we have such an annoying girl to be the heroine. She is so irrational, emotional (i'd forgive her if she's acting like that to all people, and not being sentimental only to guys) and not objective. I wonder how the male heroin could be that attach to such a negative person like her. Strength is not shown by violance, but it is shown by how positive you can be to the world.

up till now ,its ok
I loved this manga till chapter 24, somehow everything was in a different topic and i couldnt cathed up, but i still reccomend any one to read it.It still is very cute but not till chapter 24........i stopped reading thia manga but ill try to continue reading this manga T.T
Positive: This manga is a really gorgeous shoujo manga. I love the main character's personality...that was what drew me in. It's funny, cute, romantic, and has beautiful art. The suspnese is really getting in for the recent chapter (50). =D And the main leads make a really good couple.
Negative: It's obvious
Spoiler (highlight to view)
they're going to end up together. I dunno if that was a spoiler or not since the manga's not complete.
And even though Usui's heartbreakingly gorgeous, it bothers me how he is perfect. I almost really do think he's an alien! XD
what drew me to this manga was the art. usui is virtually perfect in every way and the reader really doesn't know much about him. he's a mystery and only until recently does it brush the surface of his past. misaki is a tsundere, which is fine. you do have to be patient for any romance to happen.
Strong start then a whimper
Starts off as a good take on the fairly common "tough girl and jerk" storyline: she's genuinely tough but not hard-hearted and he's not too much of a jerk and clearly cares about her, but it dengenerates pretty quickly: she requires rescue too often and he's portrayed as more and more of a superman and moreover starts tormenting her like a typical character of this type, making it difficult to take either of them seriously, and it's clearly not set up as a gag series.
Another series that starts strong and quickly falls into cliches and cheap tricks to keep going.
@akira_mizunashi: He wasn't trying to rape her, she asked what "seme" is (she heard it from some girl during the cross-dress day) and thus, he set an "example" of what a seme is.
Kaichou wa Maid-sama is a good manga. The art is good, there are lotsa funny moments and I like Misaki for having a tough attitude against the boys at Seika High. One thing that's disturbing is how Usui is so perfect. Sure, when the author are joking around and calling him "Perfect Human", it's kinda funny but as time passed by, you'd be pretty irritated. But this is fiction anyway, so I guess Usui being a perfect human may be forgiven. (?) XD
Started out good, but now...
When I first started reading this I really liked it, but now I am starting to lose intrest. Usui is acting like a jerk. (i'm starting to like the rival a whole lot more) Misaki doesn't seem to that strong anymore. And were in the world did the "maid" go, it must have been ten chapters since she has been in the cafe'. Good in the start, but unless something interseting happens I may drop this one.
Okay, first of all I like this manga very much. I started reading it from 1st vol and yes it keeps dragging when it reached 3rd and 4rd vol. But I keep on with it cause I already been in love with the character of this manga. And Thank God, the story become better as long as it moves forward. I think it when the author is said to change a bit about the story and it turn out to be good. More of romance scene between Usui and Misaki is the most I like! Truthfully, I've never seen other shoujo manga that can makes me blusshing just from reading it. Most people says this manga is cliche, I think it's true. But doesn't all shoujo manga like that? But I can't be bored when reading this manga.
Really fun series!
They say it's cliche, but it's really fun! So if you're *really* picky, you may not like it, but if you like a strong heroine and a weird hero, this manga is for you! The supporting characters are also well-developed and amusing!
Actually, now that I'm rereading the series, I can see how it's full of cliches. To be honest, I only read the series for Yukimura's sake (and later on when Kanou appears too.) Haha, maybe because I can't help but want to see Yukimura in awkward situations?
Main couple-wise, it's pretty obvious that they are going to get together, even if there are "rivals". I mean, the author pretty much established them as an OTP since like the first chapter, so basically we're just riding the story out... er... well the "story".
But still, it's something light to read. And... Yukimura, LOL.
