I'm looking for something like Historie, Vinland Saga, Vagabond, Ares and the like.
I really like manga based on real history or loosely so, and must have some good action (fighting), i note that i like it when the main protagonist is gifted in fighting and the like (Like in Historie and Vagabond)
I'd also like to note that i like the art style in all four fore mentioned manga.

thanks in advance.

I wanna say Berserk, but I really, really, really doubt its based on any real history at all. XDD Aside from the no electricity thing.

Hard to say, but maybe Rurouni Kenshin...
And also Shin Angyo Onshi (fantasy based on Korean history and folklore) or Blade Of The Immortal or Samurai Executioner is worth of mention...

I've never read the manga you've mentioned, so I don't know how this compares but... Shoukoku no Altair

Ares is not historical. I know the mangaka of Historie also did another on Archimedes and the Punic Wars that was similar to Historie called Heureka . There is also Cesare that is based on Cesare Borgia and the Renaissance. After that I would simply look up the categories on each of these mangas' pages on this site for similar stuff.

The fittest one I can think of right out of the bat is Agrippa, loosely based on Vercingetorix revolt against the Romans. Unfortunately, it's not currently being scanlated anymore nor licensed in English (I'm buying it in Italian where I live since it's licensed here).
The same author of Agrippa also made Asklepios, which I never read. Since this one is scanlated, you could try to check it out, but I'm only guessing that it fits by the summary, the historical tag and the fact that I read something from that author, so sorry if I got it wrong.

Another one that could fit is Wolfsmund, but only pick it up if you can digest hard stuff (there is torture, rape and such.). It's not exactly war, but still the European setting is very good (I'm not a big fan of the art though).

Along with some stuff already mentioned, I think Sidooh can fit too, but it never impressed me very much and I stalled it too soon to give you a true recommendation. But maybe it suits your tastes more than mine.

Lastly, since who knows maybe you can read Japanese embarrassed, I'm gonna recommend Ad Astra - Scipio to Hannibal. I only "watched" some raw, but I love the style reminding me of Historie. I really wish someone is gonna pick it up sooner or later since it's about one of my favorite historical periods and characters. If you're a big fan of historical like me I suggest to keep it under vigilance on a wish list. biggrin
