I keep bumping into yaoi oneshots and series which are all about having sex. I'd have loved to read something interesting once in a while. Is there anything that has good plot: not something simple but rather, something well done? Something which is NOT tragic or melodramatic? And definitely not anything by Youka Nitta: I totally couldn't take the level of soppiness.

Oh btw, I thought that Okane Ga Nai was pretty good and I used to read quite a few of Desperate Love's shorter series. I actually liked Komatta but have been waiting for more releases to catch up. And I already know Yamane Ayano and uhm, Yuu Higuri.

Other than that, someone please shoot a couple of suggestions?

You should try stuff done by Takanaga Hinako. My personal favorite mangaka. Her art and stories are amazing without too much sex. Kimi ga Koi ni Ochiru, Bukiyou na Silent, The Tyrant Who Fall In Love, Little Butterfly, and Croquis are all very good 😃

If you're looking for funny BL/yaoi, check out Mishima Kazuhiko, especially Love Neco. Her stories are cute and charming and they always make me laugh. In fact, I'm reading one right now 🤣

Sakuragi Yaya is also pretty darn amazing. My two favorites by her are definitely Koi Cha no Osahou and Soba ni Oitene. Funny, cute, great story and art.

Other mangaka you should check out: Eiki Eiki and Zaou Taishi.

Recently, I've been looking for stories which're meaningful so these ones will do. Also, yes, I read Bukiyou no Silent before and it was really good. Kinda sweet too, with no pretensions and stereotypes. Just a pure storyline full of kindness and warmth. 🙂

Yeah, I absolutely loved Bukiyou na Silent! 😀 I was so sad when mochi*mochi closed, but then I was so very happy when Dangerous Pleasure released the last few chapters! Satoru is just so cute 😃 One of the cutest I've come across.

Though, yes, I've read Koori before and felt the mangaka could have done better by summarising the events.If she had trimmed the entire story to a few volumes and used a combination of narration and more inner and outer thoughts, perhaps the character interaction and story would've been stronger. As it was, it was okay for passing the time if I was truly bored. 🤣

Excellent suggestions! I love Takanaga Hinako. That's what I would have suggested as well 😀 Love Neco was hilarious--a definite must-read as well as Koi Cha no Osahou.

yuri21, you may also like something by Yamato Nase such as Pretty Scoop, Hanon, or Saa koi ni Ochitamae. Oneshots are usually all about sex. Series tend to have more depth to them. A fun shounen ai series is Silver Diamond.
If you're looking for depth, as someone mentioned, Kusatta and Yume No Kodomo. Also Yatteraneeze!. That has more angst to it, but is very good, touching on real issues and is well thought out.
