Love the Drama by kelser10 on February 12th, 2009, 8:44am

Usually I do not like Yaoi manga with too much Drama, and let me tell you this has a lot of it. However, this manga is awesome, even though at the beginning the characters seem kind of whiney, they all begin to strengthen and become strong. I love how Youji becomes a stronger person as does Ren. Also It is cool how Hirose becomes like a child compared to Youji.

All in all this is an awesome manga for those who like dramatic storylines and a long leading up to the climactic first night

*EATS* by roxslide on July 22nd, 2008, 11:24pm

This might have to do a lot with the fact that I was computer starved in Costa Rica for a month, but GOD DID I MISS STORIES LIKE THIS. It's perfect, man. It has everything I would ever want. Strong female characters, omg. THIS IS EPIC. I do also love how the uke seme is like, just right somehow. They fit like puzzle pieces, it's not domination/submission or some sex war, and it makes me happy so much that no one is a chick with a dick. Deep metaphors and strong character analysis, the only thing I felt was a little weak was the begging set up and art style. Seemed a little adrupt and sketchy, but soon after, I got totally hooked. And the art style near the end totally makes up for it.

What a masterpiece, jeez. Maravilloso!

Beautiful, heartfelt story by curiousgeorge on July 8th, 2008, 5:08pm

This is such an amazing story that almost had me in tears a few times. The artist's style develops throughout the story. The art in the beginning volumes is a little rough and the translations are a little annoying, but keep with it. It's amazing, wonderful, beautiful and I keep re-reading it. I wish the last volume would be scanlated. If I didn't know there were more, the place where the scans ended would seem like a decent stopping point of the story.

satisfying by pleochroic on July 1st, 2007, 10:18am

i had a bit of trouble liking youji to start with; he was just so bratty and immature. but he slowly grew on me until i was really pulling for him, which means this is a pretty successful "coming of age" story in that regard. i was not entirely convinced of the progression of the love story, maybe because youji was so immature, and i don't have this japanese fervour for valuing "purity". but there were enough chapters to develop depth in the characters, and i really did like how youji started to work through his feelings. oh, don't read this for the smex -- it's there when it needs to be (if not particularly graphic), but this isn't wank material.

i'd like to especially commend hamada-sensei for having not just one, but three strong female characters in a yaoi manga, who don't annoy, threaten, and get in the way, but who enhance the story.

the art didn't do anything for me to start with, but grew more competent overtime, except that ren seemed to get younger and younger, though towards the end he reverted again. and there are a few really outstanding panels that i wouldn't mind looking at over and over.
