I'm looking for where the protagonist is an everyday kid, then he learns something or something occurs where s/he becomes darker and more serious. I'm not referring to a standard shounen plot where the some random kid suddenly has powers and has to defeat some evil organization bent on destroying the world while surrounded by girls with big breasts, but something deeper with a realistic edge to the plot. Perfect examples are Kiseijuu and Lament of the Lamb.

Edit: I mean "dark" in a serious and depressed way, not necessarily evil. Sorry for those who were confused. ^^;

Maou: Juvenile Remix fits the bill pretty well. Okay, so the protagonist doesn't necessarily turn "evil", but there is a really dark and deep theme here, and there are lots of twists and turns, too. I think you sort of get the whole feel of the manga by the first title page.

Non of them was Normal but still in Kiseijuu is not so normal with an that alien, so...
Vinland Saga Becomes EMO.
Magister Negi Magi In the last chapters.
Ares Berserk a main character becomes the bad guy.

[EDIT]
I forgot... Shamo fits perfectly. Normal guy suddenly kills his parents.

Hmm... i dunno how realistic you want it to be but you've also mentioned Kiseijuu, so maybe some of these might work for you:

Dragon Head
Battle Royale
Deadman Wonderland
Alive
Immortal Regis
Black Lagoon

Well, those are some that i like and was either complete or three to four vol. in term of scanlations so enjoy cool

Thanks for all the recommendations. Sorry if the word "dark" was confusing, I was referring to them becoming depressed and serious, though I don't mind if they become evil or anything. ;D

Well, though this is not really what you wanted, you can try Until Death do us Part.
Nice story and action. Not too fast, not too slow, and more seinen.

I believe Zetman is somewhat what you are looking for.

Thanks for more, I already enjoy UDDUP (though as you said it doesn't really fit) and Zetman looks interesting. smile

Keep 'em coming, please. biggrin

In a sort of way, Bitter Virgin since he's quite a nonchalant guy until he discovers that. It's not really at all similar to Kiseijuu, but maybe it shares some similarities Lament of the Lamb.
To a lesser extent it could also apply to Elfen Lied but if you're against violence and ecchi you'd probably stay away form it.
And if with kid you meant just a male guy and not a "kid" I'd also say Monster and 20th century boys (especially the first one).

My favorite of this type is Himizu. It's very good.
