Hi, im looking for a romance manga with a specific type of female lead
please read these requirements before recommending, thanks! ^^
I WANT:
an unpopular/plain/average female lead, like she is overshadowed by a beautiful best friend or guys don't tend to yearn for her
strong minded, strong willed female lead who can stand up for herself
good art please! I like art like in "Last Game", "Watashi ni xx shinasai", etc.
i prefer her to be quite nonchalant/indifferent about romance, if possible; but PLEASE no boy-crazy boy obsessed female lead who is desperate for a boyfriend
i enjoy bickering couples, if possible
i don't mind one-shots
I DO NOT WANT:
a super girly female lead; cares way too much about boys and appearance
the female lead to be like the girl every boy wants; like considered super beautiful
a super timid female lead that can't speak her mind ( Kimi ni todoke)
a bossy uptight female lead to the point it annoys you
large age gap romance, like teacher-student relationships or w/e
female lead that is overdramatic and blushes too much and is all like "omg, omg he is so hawt does he like me?"
damsel in distress type female lead
gender bender

I would highly recommend koi dano ai dano
Koi dano ai dano is a sequel of another manga warau kanoko sama.
Kanoko has been transferring schools during middle school because of her father's job. Ever since she was a kid she's always been very observant, she always study each person's life she met. She has no friends, she wears glasses and has a bob hair. During her stay in one of the middle schools she transferred she met Tsubaki, at first Tsubaki doesn't like her, actually he doesnt like people talking to him, but eventually he comes to like her, he also always visit her to her new middle school. He is actually a very popular and cool guy. Come highschool, kanoko talked to her parents and asked them that she will stay in one higschool and wont be transferring anymore, she now lives by herself. Tsubaki and kanoko goes to the same highschool and class. Tsubaki is trying his best to show kanoko how he feels about her but kanoko is soo dense and slow... or actually it is maybe becaus she doesnt think that a popular and cool guy like tsubaki would fall for her so she only regards him as a friend.
This manga is very slow in romance but you will love it. I love the female lead's character and i think this manga fits with what you are looking for.

I second Shiawase and Ouran.
These may work:
Ashita no Ousama - College girl who becomes a playwright/stage director. The romance is slow. Josei.
Mars - Unpopular lead. I can't remember how strong she was - but she didn't annoy me as a heroine, anyway. Serious story. Listed as shoujo but it fits the josei genre better.
Gokusen - There is an age gap (teacher/student), but the female lead fits your requirements perfectly & it's an awesome manga. Josei. Art may take getting used to... same for the two above as well, actually.
Kimi wa Pet - Age gap in this one too, but the characters are older. Josei.
Special A - Sort of similar to Kaichou in that the leads are superhuman, so this doesn't really fit into plain/unpopular/average, but I decided to recommend since you listed Kaichou as an example. Rivalry. Hikari blushes way less than Misaki/doesn't need constant rescuing/rescues other people/isn't sexist, so I like her far more. Shoujo.
Koukou Debut - Lead female is a tomboy. The story starts out with her trying to become more feminine to find a boyfriend, but she's a really good lead. Shoujo.
Seiyuu Ka-! - About voice actors. Funny. Rivalry. There's a bit of gender bender, but not to the degree of one of those boarding school mangas - she only dresses like a boy for a small portion of the time due to various circumstances. Shoujo.
