Anyway.
What manga do you think gets to much credit and attention?
If it gets many votes, I can count and post them here...
But for now, let's just rant about the manga we think it too overrated.

Those 2 are some of the most OVERRATED manga I've ever seen.

I'd say Naruto and Tenjou Tenge. Not to say either are bad (I read both), but there just not worth all the attention they're getting.

I think Ten Ten gets attention because of the ecchi, which is really unfair.

I read them to see why they were so popular, but I found them to be typical of manga with a shounen demographic, nothing really special about them.

Obviously, there is a lot of shounen-action manga that falls into this category, and a few shoujo-romances as well, but I'm going to ignore that for a moment and say Death Note.

Before anyone bashes me, I actually think Death Note is very good- it has an elaborate plot, moral and psychological complexity, and decent pacing. However, I don't think it's quite as good as it is consistently made out to be, paling in comparison to better psychological manga like Monster or Parasyte. I don't know if all the hype just comes from the fact that the anime is licensed or that it was serialized in Shounen Jump, but it certainly isn't anywhere near the best the genre has to offer.

Now some of these I like but it really annoying how overrated they are. And also I don't hate all shonen just very cliche ones that everyone thinks are made from angel crap.

Vampire Knight - Definitely. I gave it a try when ppl kept pestering on manga boards about "OMGZ TEH BEST EVAR11!!1!!!", and it just bored the crap outta me.

One Piece - Love it, but it makes me angry that people try to put on some higher pedestal than other typical shonen.

Mx0 - More typical shonen garbage.

Tenjou Tenge - Basically one of Oh! Great's H-manga stories extended to last over 10 years.

Claymore - "OMG IZ TEH BERSZERCK W/ WOMAN" No it's not.

While I'm at it: Berserk - Has one of the most cliche plots ever just painted over w/ violence and sex. Also it annoys me when people compare Ubel Blatt to this when they have nothing in common.

I would put The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Code Geass up there if their manga didn't suck so much that fans won't even read them.

The best manga have the smallest target audience, therefor it is impossible for something to be overrated.

Just because a lot of people like something, doesn't mean it's "high-rated". On the contrary.

Vampire Knight - it's overrated to the max. yeah the art is good, but the plotline and characters suck a LOT.

Naruto - do I really need to say anymore?

Who knows? I can't really say. Bleach maybe. But Naruto is pretty good.
