Not bad

After you get over the pathetic start and premise it was a fun manga. Yes, it has nothing original and you can see the ending from ch1 but I had some good laughs. It's a pity thou that even when the mangaka did a good effort to give closure to the story the ending is clearly rushed and I have to agree with most of what Jiggy-Ninja says.

Personally, I liked it. I read it a few years ago and read it about a month ago. Still good. The ending was a bit shabby and the manga as a whole is pretty amoral. However, it's seinen. There's going to be "nasty" things in there. The main kicker was the comedy. Mature gold. The characters are fun, but nothing more. No extra layer to peel off, nothing special.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I'm utterly surprised by the words of praise above me. I found this manga to be completely horrible. As a bit of perspective, I have have read roughly 100 manga series of various genres; this is probably the ONLY one that I would never recommend to someone.

However, I'm even more surprised by JaKXz's statement that there are "no real villains". What the hell do you idiots think the professor is!?!? He kidnaps two innocent people, straps a BOMB onto each of their wrists (That's all B-Shock is, a reverse proximity bomb that explodes if they get too far apart) without their consent, arbitrarily yanks their chain by fiddling with the safety distance, and as far as we can tell, since the "official" reason for the B-Shock "experiment" was never revealed, just did it for shits and grins. That is pure, distilled, unadulterated PSYCHOPATHIC EVIL.

So no, I could not enjoy the story when every time that goddamn asshole showed up in the story, I wanted to see the main character smash his teeth out, tie him to a chair in a dark room, and GOUGE HIS FUCKING EYES OUT WITH A FORK. And don't forget his research assistants. NOTHING happens to them at the end. Everyone involved gets off with no punishment AT ALL for their actions.

Nakano Junko is a good author. Hetakoi is sweet, lovely, and 1000 time better than this worthless crap, and Chisa x Pon, at least the parts that have been translated, seems to have the makings of a nice, dramatic series (even if I did hear that it turns kinda NTR). Stay with those two; keep away from this.

Yes this kind of story is common, but considering when it was made, much better than otherwise. Funny, sincere, and a good read. One thing great about it is the art isn't typical, but kind of original feeling. 8/10

I tried to get into this manga but had a hard time. The character development had a lot of weak spots. Yes, I was up for some good laughs in this and found myself chuckling on more than a few occasions but that was about it. Things were predictable and I was seriously hoping for me.

B-Shock was the first manga that I gave a 10/10. Yeah, its that awesome. 52 chapters that kept me locked, entertained, everything. I re-read it more often than I read new manga. You're gonna love this one, I can almost guarantee it.
The fact that there aren't any real "villains" is so perfect for romance manga like this... and the romance was really well executed, there wasn't too much or too little. It added the flavour that all romance mangas SHOULD have, but some either go over or have very little at all.
I'll say it again: B-Shock is the best! XD

This is one of my favourite romantic/comedy mangas EVER

First of all, the this is one of those mangas that gave me numerous Laugh Out LOUD moments and my stomach was aching from the constant laughing. The jokes were genuinely funny and the funny expressions the characters have only adds to the charm and funny factor of the manga.

However, the romance was poorly developed as some people have said. The manga goes on for 3 volumes with nothing much happening in the romance department (even though we know the main characters HAVE to hook up as a rule of romance mangas) Then comes the volume 4 and BAM the romance begins to develop (2 volumes too late IMO) Therefore, the development was rushed, the ending was rushed, many characters, and i mean important characters, only made it into the manga once or twice.

Despite the 'rushiness' the ending left me with a good feeling and was a good ending in my books compared to other mangas. It would have scored a 10 if the romance and the ending were not so rushed. (Kinda wish it was longer because i wanted more)

The plot was really original. I really liked this manga. I feel like the ending was a little rushed but it was pretty good. I definitely think that this is more of a comedy with a dash of romance and not for those who are looking for romance.
