Starts out quite great but becomes gradually worse

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I liked the story quite a bit at the start, no, actually, I loved it, a 9/10 for the first 2 volumes or so. The first few volumes were great, but around the end of volume 3 I started realizing that I should probably drop it because things were just becoming explosively worse since the start of that volume. The author was actively murdering his own novel in cold blood. So much potential wasted because the author can't draw the line between what is FUNNY and what is just RETARDED BEYOND BELIEF, retarded to the point where you actually get pissed off and wants to hit the characters bloody, especially the mc and the second heroine. Honestly, the author himself can't be that bright if he writes things like this and thinks it's good or acceptable, maybe that's why he wrote about an almost fully mentally disabled main character, then he'd be in his right element, right? No offense, it's just that bad, I guess there are some people out there who'd love it though, but usually those people wouldn't be that bright either and would be able to form a resonance with this mc, either that or you have a very weird sense of humor, ridiculous tolerance for garbage or you're a masochist. I can confidently say that anyone who lean more towards sadism than masochism would never be able to stomach any big doses of this thing.

The thing is, the mc was kinda funny and maybe even "cute" in his own way(mind you, I mean this in an sense of "adorable" because he's such a stupid moron but still somewhat funny). However, this quickly grows stale before you start to get irritated and even upset at how much of a wimp he is despite being a god. He cries when he gets new powers and he never attempted to master his powers or think even for a second. It's frustrating, because he's sadly not as funny as the idiot mc from baka to test to shokanjuu, at least those guys are trying their best and never yields while this guy is just a spineless b*tch who can't even think for a second or say no to anyone even though he could literally bring about the end of the world casually if he went around throwing random punches and magic here and there. Is it too much to ask for that he'll act cool even once? That he'd realize his own powers. That he'd at least act NORMAL and not like a super masochist with extreme self-confidence issues despite being all-powerful? Honestly, just masochists would enjoy this. As a sadist myself, there's only so much of this that I can handle since he never grows a pair no matter how powerful he gets, how much he experiences or however far he goes. He's the type who'd smile about getting trampled down despite not even being a real masochist. It would actually be pretty good if he WAS a masochist who'd get turned on by being used as a doormat and wouldn't dream of harming people or attacking someone unless it was self-defense. At least that way, we'd have an excuse for his behavior and it'd be kinda amusing. But this guy acts like a terrified wimp despite being the most OP being in that world.

He doesn't want things to happen to him, but he seems to actively pursue getting screwed over by people as he acts like a typical weakling. Crying while being chased by a pet wolf, screaming in horror while riding a fast donkey, being dominated by his girls while seemingly having no will of his own, crying about everything and anything that happens, being scared to death of some homos and much more. Did the author honestly think he could use the same gags over and over again for volume after volume despite how ridiculously illogical and repetitive it is? To not even be able to voice his own thoughts and getting forced to do things against his will all the time... Come on. Despite all his skills, he never utilizes any of them correctly either. The only way he'll ever impress people is with pure specs or because he's got a cheat that can make him reflexively fight like a master without him having to actually think at all(that's the ONLY time he acts like a real badass, but it's ruined by him being all surprised and screaming with surprise the second he wins -.-)! Yay for cheats. Honestly, I want to put my shoe so far up where the sun doesn't shine that the author won't be able to sit for a year. That's how stupid this is and how obnoxious the whole ordeal becomes after a while. Well, I guess a COMPLETELY inept yet stupidly OP mc was what the author was going for(the mc even has a "lack of self-respect" title in the novel), sadly he didn't have even a fifth of the required skills to actually make it funny enough for things to work.

Al, one of his new girls, was one of the worst cliché templates I've ever seen and I hate her. I didn't like her even once from the very start, she ruins the story which could've been cool because her attitude is like a cliché japanese girlfriend type found in shounen stories. The type who gets pissed when she sees the mc do things to other girls, like being seen with another girl. This ends up with him sitting in seiza and her bossing him around while standing around like a self-important prick. That he just takes this shit is extremely annoying, especially since he wasn't in the wrong at all, not even a little bit. This mc seriously needs a spine and some balls, because while it was growing back from being nonexistent at the start of the novel, these girls are crushing it to atomic levels.

Also, that the whole school is there is kind of annoying as a setting. ESPECIALLY since the mc clearly shows his interest in joining up his childhood friends. Oh god, is there any better way to ruin a novel like this than have the mc join up with people he knows from before? I can already imagine how spineless and worthless he'll be, getting pushed around and trampled more than the most masochistic doormat. He doesn't even care or want any revenge whatsoever despite being abandoned and told to die by everyone in his class and pretty much everyone in school. He doesn't even hate them! If he saw them in trouble, he'd no doubt risk his life to help them -.-

It doesn't help that the translation is average at best and we don't even get clear distinctions when we change point of view to somewhere else, nope, one second we read a line about the mc and the next line, we're seeing what some demons, wanna-be heroes, king, warrior or other people are doing. Still, that it doesn't flow well further makes the story worse, but it's not what makes this novel so bad after a few volumes.

So, the big points that I hate the most in this novel isn't actually that the mc is foolish. It's fine if he's stupid, if he's a moron. What truly annoys me is that he's not only stupid, he also can't any of his skills properly, he acts as if he's weak despite being obscenely OP and he lets everyone push him around. That's what truly grinds my gears. How can I enjoy a mc that can't even slightly wield his powers? When he can't think even a little bit befitting of his powers? When he doesn't grow at all? I mean, even a retard would realize that he's OP and refuse to get controlled or at least refuse from taking shit from people who would explode into meat sauce if he so much as poked them. If he dislikes something and doesn't want to do something, he wouldn't just feel like a weakling, stammer and go along anyway. He wouldn't be fazed by anyone. Seriously, why is he even hiding his powers in the first place? He's one of the types that just shouldn't need to do so because no one would bother him as long as he told them to screw off. It'd be more bothersome to try hiding it. The black dragon god, one of the supreme beings of the world that is pretty much on the same level as the demon king(or at least close to him) has around 1/9 of the mc's stats, and the mc is just level 15 while that dragon is level 5000. The mc can easily level up more as well(easily) he every time he does so, he gains more than half a dragon god's powers! It's as if you're adding another dragon god's powers to him every time he levels up twice, or even more. Demon king? Dragon king? Heroes? They're such inferior beings that they might as well be slimes/goblins to a SSS ranked adventurer. What is he worrying about? Literally NOTHING he can't instantly fix could ever happen because he revealed his powers. He can even resurrect dead people if they kill someone he knows. I just can't agree with the mc being such a moron with no self-respect, no self-awareness and zero growth no matter how powerful he becomes. It pisses me off more and more the longer I read, especially since the author decides to add more and more stuff to show just how worthless he is as a human being. It's not funny at all. I have never seen anyone more undeserving of his powers than this mc. That's quite an achievement with all the garbage japanese mcs out there. Starting to feel like I should read a chinese novel to get rid of this bad taste.

I came here for comedy and while I loved the first two volumes with there being a decent amount of good comedy, it just stopped being funny after that and instead became something I hated thanks to bad writing along with shitty characters.

Astonishingly bad writing, never seen that bad before. MC is unlikable retarded, hypocrite wimp. Tons of contradictions, not funny tsukkomi's. Translation: all those moo-maa-haa-tsu-are-wa and other unreadable gibberish

Friend is in grave danger with enemies 100 levels higher? Have a nice chat with a monster in the dungeon;
A friend just behind a wall and you know it? Have a MILLION attack power and can crush mountains? Search a way around a wall in the hostile territory, while a friend is in grave danger with enemies 100 levels higher
I'm sick of stupid wimps who try to not stand out from the crowd so hard, it puts friends and family in danger.

I enjoyed most of the story, so I kept reading. However, after the introduction of the Guild, the story becomes really stupid. I liked the mc's personality, and I figured he became stronger with the time spent in the forest mostly by himself and defeating monsters stronger than himself. Suddenly, the mc regresses and is intimidated by a few thugs, all the while asking for help from a couple of people could be his future teammates. All they said was "give up", and he still wants to join them?

I guess it's okay

The dialogue and explanations for things are a bit confusing. A lot of it doesn't seem to be explained clearly or correctly, as why some of the stuff that happens doesn't really make sense.

The characters are decent I guess, as so far there are not many character development yet, well emotionally and mentally development. The MC is apparently funny in the novel with his tsukkomi on things, but I don't really find it funny. You can relate to the MC, but I do find him a bit of a wuss, which is fine. The only thing that I really have against him is that I really don't find him funny at all. You also don't meet the first girl for a while, and when you do she doesn't become human until a while.

Even though this novel is supposed to be a comedy, I don't really find myself laughing at any of the jokes. Don't get me wrong though, I still enjoy reading this novel, but you just won't hear me laughing at the jokes.

So far I've read only 18 chapters, as there are only 18 chapters translated as of right now. I personally think that this series is okay, and I hope that it gets better in the future. If it doesn't then, you'll just be reading a novel about a MC always having to have unfunny tsukkomi about everything.

Sooo many translators on this Light Novel and yet nobody posted a dang chapter of it for the past 61 days...BTW story is nice, I like the MC. The idea of being ''bright'' even with his live is a nice change of pace...9/10

Reads like a bad anime script

(only at ch.8 of the English translations, so take it with a grain of salt)

It reads terribly and the dialogue suffers immensely because of it. It may work voiced, but in text it's just awful to read and I won't blame the translators for it. While the premise is interesting and the series may improve as it matures, so far the quality is too poor to rate it highly, even if it is a WN.

Maybe the style just doesn't mesh with me.
Maybe it's a Japanese thing.

Be forewarned. Also, I marked lightly because it's a WN, if it was an actual printed novel I'd probably give it a 4 or less.
