Pretty miserable

Both female leads are insufferable, but if you can look past that it's a good, interesting enough webtoon. You can have flawed and even dumb female leads that are lovable or have some kind of depth, but Ginger is not one of them. Lerajie is actually really smart compared to her but she's still shallow and unlikeable (so far). I feel like we're supposed to be rooting for Ginger because she's the "better" character, but nothing she does shows any of that. Possibly the worst part is that usually both the reader and Ginger are given the same information but she still manages to be completely clueless + ultimately selfish. I'm sure there's character growth later but I'd say 30 chapters into a relatively short(?) webtoon is far enough to decide it's not worth reading.

I do respect all the over the top goofy names for the characters though.

I want to smack Ginger. "Her flaws make her more human imo." Yeah, I guess stupidity is a flaw.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Some people in the comments on MD were saying that Lerajie is stupid for trying to get Izana's interest again, but that's exactly what ginger did. Ginger died by his hands too. And Ginger is the stupid one while Lerajie actually had the foresight to know that she shouldn't be seen with Kishon at the coronation. Ginger just left her engagement a loose end and pursued Izana WHILE SHE STILL HAD A FIANCE. Even if she isn't one to care about gossip (which I doubt because she's shallow), she should know reputation is a powerful thing. But she only took care of it after the Duke tried to push them to marry. And it wasn't even her that took care of it, she relied on Izana even though they were merely acquainted. She acted under the presumption that he would help her. How fucking pathetic can you get? Maybe if she exposed Kishon's affair, her mother could have ordered the servants to prohibit him from entering the house. It would have been easy for people to believe considering his reputation as a womanizer. And how did he enter the house so easily, anyway? She was stupid enough to leave her enemy ALONE in her room with such a powerful cheat that saved her life and could dictate the future depending on what she did with the information it gave her. What kind of fucking idiot leaves their enemy alone in their room??? Her head is so vacuous to the point that she forgot about Kishon taking the book because she could only think of Izana. Stupid, frivolous thoughts because she was infatuated with his looks. And the fact that she didn't recognize Hamel Bray, despite him giving her details of what he looked in the book that he wrote? I suppose I could forgive that. But then she had the audacity to give Izana a fake book. Her inability to accept Hamel's powers as the truth was also laughable. Bitch, you were trying to redirect the course of events of a magic book so desperately until now, I think you can suspend your disbelief. Hamel saved her from TWO bad endings now, both of which were her own fault. The fact that Hamel didn't ask about what happened to the original book when he gave her a new one is on him too though I guess.

That's the problem with these types of stories. It's not the character's fault that they're such idiots. It's my fault for expecting so much and questioning this type of contrived story that requires no critical thinking and is only meant to be enjoyed as fodder.

The real idiot is me for not enjoying it for what it is lmao. I think the FL is too stupid for me so I'm going to drop it though.

I can´t stand the characters, I couldn't care less for any of them, immature, whimsical, petty. both lead and antagonist are like that, the ML is ok I guess but is bland, classic dreamy prince + a trauma since he can read minds (which is very badly used and is very inconsistent), and the story, its the typical overly complicated shoujo stuff, it feels like a mexican melodrama at times.
I ask you, can you imagine a guy that has been duped, he goes to the house of the woman who dumped him, she humiliates him (pretty much) and the guy, guess what he does?
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
well he picks up a love novel an starts to read it... in the house of the woman who dumped him... yeah sure! And why is the guy in her room in the first place? Noble lady? hello? they don't invite a man into their room, they have a meeting room or tea room for that
The only good aspect, imo, is the art, it´s not amazing but it´s quite good, art in manhwa is so good recently that it's becoming common but it is regardless very good.

The MC is a bit clueless when it comes to piecing information together, and lacks common sense when it comes to protecting her advantages. However, the general story is really cute and funny despite the number of times I wanted to give the MC a shake-down. I'd recommend this to fans of otome-isekai

Takes a while to get used to the MC

After a couple of chapters, I put it on hold due to my intense annoyance with the MC. I always find it very frustrating when the reader has information the MC does not have and then gets to witness said character walking into every possible uncomfortable situation. now that the story has progressed a little and I had time to let Ginger grow on me I am enjoying the story and her antics become funnier rather than more embarrassing over time. It definitely has something fresh to offer within the villainess redemption genre and the Art is great!

What A Twist!

Okay so I did not see that twist coming! At first I was a bit annoyed with FL but she's refreshingly self aware and feisty in the latest chapters, and the twist certainly have me all excited now to continue reading. It picks up after ch12 or so, so give it a chance. For all the stories I've read on this genre this is a refreshing take on it and it does subvert some expectations of the overused tropes we find in this genre. And it seems like the real villain of the story is someone who's cunning and not that stupid. Challenging villains are rare in these stories lol.

FL is flawed and she does make mistakes, which makes her more human IMHO

Art is beautiful too which is a treat.
