From JShoujo Scans:

Little Rin Fujiwara hated her own face a lot. It was not until her 6th birthday that a make up box she got as a present changes her perspective completely. In front of the mirror, Rin would play with the make up, which becomes like a magic that makes her stronger. Rin believes make up can change both appearance and heart, because it gives the confidence a girl needs.
Years later, Rin attends her first high school year. She decides to help other girls there to become pretty as well, using her make up box. Rin, hidden under the identity of Ageha, a legendary make up stylist, with a help from her classmate Kisaragi, who has to hide his real identity by crossdressing as a woman, is willing to do magic in front of the mirror and change girls “just like when a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly”. How to meet Ageha and have her make you more beautiful? Easy, just write your name and class on the butterfly card and put it on the bullentin board on the 3rd floor. Ageha will come for sure, so what are you waiting for?

honestly this manga is's just about ageha making girls who dont believe in the "legend of ageha" pretty. there's nothing really to it. im not being biased, the art's pretty good. it's something you should read when you can't find anything else you want to read.

Mediocre, but not quite a waste of time...

You know those stories that you don't find good, but at the same time don't find exceptionally bad... but remember nonetheless? That's this story for me. It's definitely a middle-school level plotline, with most of the gags coming from a running joke that only makes sense in hindsight.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The fact that the original Ageha was the girl's dad was actually funny, explained why people initially mistook the guy for Ageha, and was hinted well enough that it wasn't completely out of nowhere. I mean, I called it.
Besides that, it has an only barely saved from the bad-messages-heap theme (makeup makes you pretty, but only if it's applied to suit your already present beauty, and because it makes you confident). The only thing that I think was notably done right was the romance. The relationships with all the other characters were really one-dimensional, but the romance was done very multi-dimensional for such a short story, and I did enjoy that it focused on the new relationship, the friendship, and the development. Most manga romance isn't the well-done. But there was little plot at all outside that. It was just, all around, "meh."

Agreed with Bjorie, it's pretty corny stuff. The running gag is also pretty ridiculous. I seriously just don't find it funny.

The story has a similar premise to Beauty Pop, but without the moving parts and rivalry. I didn't really like it, I just downloaded it one day, then months later I finally feel like reading it. It's a waste of my computer's memory.

Not recommended. Maybe it'll move from my unfinished list to my reading list if it's every licensed or completely scanlated.

I liked it.. It was a good time waster biggrin in a good way. But it was cheesy how they kept mistaking Riku for ageha.. *sigh*
And now I'm getting tired of this manga

so the art was only good also finally at least the 1st gen Ageha was real i thought i wonder who it could be the only thing a bit strange feeling i got from this manga was that the characters drawn felt a big fat and midget... like in other manga i read the character always have slim legs and tall people but in this everyone seemed a bit short even the males
or maybe thats just being me..

UGH unless you're still in middle or elementary school, don't bother reading this. No plotline and the whole point of the story is that you should use lots of makeup so that you'll be pretty. Really?

this i what youd expect: a shy girl knows how to put on make up, because she had a complex in the past, a crazy school and grandparents, who dont like girls wearing make up, but in my oppinion they are unreasonable and a super cool looking guy who plays around girls and is interested only the main female lead. you could read the first 3-4 chapter, but as it is already said that its episodic so meaning it is repetative. so basicaly it goes like this: a girl doesn like herself, then ageha appears and "magically changes her" (theres not much difference actually, in my oppinion if a person face proportions are normal make up can look good, but in this manga like any stupid droopy eyes shoujo manga, almost everybodys face is the same even the boys, after the transformation it doesnt really make that girl preety, but makes the ink thicker ) and on to the famous "gag" that everybodys talking about basicaly a girl sees ageha and the boy with the wig and assumes that he is ageha, but thats not funny, ok i get that it may not be funny to me but others may like, but come ON author!!! it cant continue all the same for the ENTIRE series!!!!!
so in conclusion this manga lacks originality first of all, art is kinda lacking too (well if youre into classical huge sparkly eyes girls you might like it) and story is repetative and BOOOOOOOOORING

Well, i fairly liked this manga.. art was great. Hm, plot was interesting in one way or the other. . I've finished reading the raws too .. so I think this is a great manga even though i feel that the romance in this manga is kind of shallow . Nevertheless, it's still recommended ;D

When the original Ageha before Rin turns out to be her dad.... lmfao. Seriously.
This manga isn't anything extraordinary, but hey, it's got nice art and overall, I couldn't say I regretted reading it. It's not the best, but I enjoyed it!
