6 Volumes (Complete)

For me, the male lead carried the show.
The male lead is a cool guy and know what to do. He is not a weak or a simp guy. I'm a guy btw.
I also like the interaction between male lead and female lead. Wished the author can extend or fleshed out even more on their interaction.
Nevertheless, the plot is good and you would get hooked. It was intertaining even though it is a 2nd read for me.
this is everything i ever wish from my survival horror - maniacal characters, some nudity, loads of gore and all the complicated maneuvering in bringing down other people. for anyone who love survival horror, this will be a treat to you all.
I haven't read Hohzuki Island yet, which this one seems to be tied into. It may be advisable to read that one first, although it is not necessary.
Mouryou no Yurikago pulls no punches. Characters often aren't the kind of person they appear to be at first glance.
the manga can pretty much be summed up as poseidon with zombies. i suggest to watch the movie if you haven't already. it's a decent popcorn flick, even with only a ~5.6 rating, but more importantly it helps build up the setting since i'm almost positive the creators pulled many of their ideas from it.
the flow of the story is pretty amazing with good utilization of flashbacks and character progression. how the zombies were presented was also pretty creative and not very standard. with conspiracies, trust issues, and lot of unknowns that get piled up, this manga keeps a good hook throughout like a good thriller should.
my only beef really is that the story dabbles into Battle Royale-ish situations which is i find silly since i think it's out of context with the setting (you're in a freakin sinking ship) but others might enjoy this flavor. also, nice catch by Gunzy for spotting those unusual upright stairs. it's hilarious when you notice it.
I definitely agree with what some of the others were saying. Though I'm not familiar with Hohzuki Island, the mangaka did copy bits from Poseidon. As mentioned before, ch 18 had the reference to the elevator.
In the movie, the group had to get through an elevator shaft, they used a table and one character had to kick off another when the table fell. Here, we see slight changes. I also thought ! the explosion was similar to that of the movie when the kitchen was on fire. Now on ch 35 we see, ! the water hose reference: in the movie the group was crossing the main hall or wherever when the engine fell through, destroying the pathway. Fuel fell down, things caught fire and they used a water hose as a zip-line. Just remembered! ! When they got stuck in the chimney, it's similar to when the group went into the pressure rooms and had to wait for them to full. Oh! the biggest of them all is that the damn boat is flipped over. (can't forget that.) This manga is interesting with the gore and such, but not too original.
Survival skills are at their max here. It's great to see how the characters deceive one another in order to survive. There's a lot of things that happen where I'm like, "i would have never thought of that!" Like:
When the girl "hung" herself, or when Kasuga lured the two people into the ship chimney.
Enough spoilers from me! I feel the references are never ending -_- A good manga nonetheless. Try it out.
One a side note: Did any else catch the boat is upside down but the stairs are still right-side up?
Forgive me:
vent shaft and the water rising
this is my favorite Horror & survival manga
you know battle royal at the time showed us how cruel humans can be
but in this the creepiness of some humans goes beyond the unhuman
( and a character with piss fetish)
Yeah, there's recurring character, Yume the blind girl, was an elementary school student then, now High School
This manga also took many references from Hollywood movie Poseidon
The main theme zombie is original, but the capsizing luxurious ship and many scenes are a complete rip-off, the latest chapter (18) confirms that
there situation is worst
than resident evil and silent hill.
my big question is how will they
survive inside a drowning boat
full of meat eating beings?
I rather fight zombie inside the
building rather than inside a drowning
ship and not just that the monsters
were kinda smart and contagious
it makes the infected go crazy and
kill people then eat people...
I dunno how will the survivors
pull this off!
scaredy girls makes the situation worse
than even you are brave you somehow
affected and got panic...
then again please survive!
this is related to Hohzuki Island, when they mention the character Yume and showed her as a blind girl is when i noticed
